I am writing to acknowledge the receipt of your superb drawing [6029] which reached me without mishap, and of which I hurried to have a full-page print made in the magazine, with the recommendation that it should be done with the greatest care.^[1]

I could not be more flattered by the great honour that you have done us to give us

the opportunity to disclose to our readers this superb effigy of Leo XIII. If it is agreeable to you, I could print out the number of copies that you would like as plates, and would be happy to offer those to you as a token of my gratitude.

I am looking forward to hearing from you regarding this matter, and am sending you, my dear Master, my best wishes for Christmas and the New Year.
