‘Two Charity Balls’, Daily News, 25 April 1925

For two nights next week Lord Leverhulme is lending his beautiful house, The Hill, Hampstead, for charitable balls. For Monday the league of Roses are arranging a ball in aid of the Royal Northern Hospital, Holloway-road, tickets 10s. 6d. each. The following Wednesday, April 30, the Empire Ball in aid of the People’s League of Health (tickets 30s. each), will be held there.

 

The great feature of the Empire Ball will be a pageant costume competition, in which sittings for a portrait by Philip de Laszlo is the prize [13294].
