Dear Master,

I am afraid I am unable to find exactly the same vase for you – all mine are green, yellow and red, and figurative, only one is white and blue – I’m sending you the lid of this one – the body is much bluer though than the lid and the blue is more dominant.^[1]

If you think that this vase is nevertheless useful, I would then ask you to tell the bearer of the lid that he should also bring the vase over.

Verehrter Meister

Ich fürchte Ihnen nicht die gewünschte Wase [sic] senden zu können – alle die meinigen hier sind – grün, gelb, roth u. figural, nur eine ist weiß und blau – den Deckel derselben erlaube ich mir Ihnen zu zu senden – am Körper der Wase ist zwar viel mehr blau .......det als am Deckel und ist das blau etwas dominierender.

Falls Sie glauben daß diese Wase doch paßend ist – bitte ich Sie dem Ueberbringen des Deckels zu sagen daß er die Wase selbst auch gleich bringen soll.
