Jumpmat is an accurate measuring device for assessing lower body muscle power – the most sought after characteristic of physical fitness. The unit can be used to asses lower body power in a single and repetitive squat jumps and counter movement jumps. Jumpmat is the only device of its kind that will automatically calculate more sophisticated indices of muscle power, such as Reactive Strength Index. The JumpMAT is an excellent tool in multiple or continuous jump protocols in training. With no feedback it is difficult to keep the level of effort high or to know when to stop. The JumpMAT’s immediate feedback therefore helps motivation. Below is a list of measurements the Jumpmat will provide instantly:
Methods of measurement: Vertical Jump Mode: When the athlete steps onto the mat, remaining for more than one second is deemed a standing jump and only Height Jumped and Flight Time are displayed. Rebound Jump Mode: The athlete steps onto the mat and immediately jumps into the air.On landing the Contact Time and Flight Time are measured. Height Jumped and Reactive Strength are then calculated and all four are displayed. |

Benefits of JumpMat Created specifically by sports scientists for sports scientists, JumpMat is a performance analysis tool which provides a number of key benefits to training and athlete development. 1) Measure and Moderate Athlete Performance: It is imperative in modern sport that the coach understands how an athlete’s body is holding up to the rigors of a long and tiring season. With the JumpMat you can instantly see from one jump whether their energy levels have dropped, the power being produced has dropped, or if they are not hitting scores that they usually do – showing that the athlete is not performance to maximum capacity and identify the early signs of fatigue. - The coaching dilemma has always been that returning too quickly can cause further, often more serious injury. The JumpMat itself does not facilitate the recovery from injury directly, however used correctly, it can help a coach predict when an athlete is ready to return without the risk of re-injuring the affected muscles. - By automatically logging every result ever input by the athlete, the JumpMat will have stored the athlete’s usual measurements. During recovery, the athlete can use the mat to see if they are matching their previous scores - if not, then it is up to the coach to decide on the amount of further training that needs to be done. - JumpMat is currently being utilized in sport from Recreational level to International level in a variety of sports to measure important factors for young athletes. - By providing scores such as jump height, flight time, contact time and Reactive Strength Index,it is clear for a coach whether or not an athlete posses the raw potential to perform at elite level. - As we all know, power is an important component in most elite sports, and the JumpMat provides an effective method of measuring this. With the JumpMat automatically storing all scores, athletes can be tested over time, and can also compare results they may have scored even months or years previously! |
