Hello and welcome!

A little about me. My name is Von, also known as Jaren, and I am one of the few MCP streamers floating about right now and have been doing it since the TTS module for MCP was introduced. I’ve run streams of 6 TTS leagues and streamed/ commentated on all levels from round 1 to the TTS finals in multiple of these. If you want to see examples of this, please feel free to visit my YouTube page to check my work out. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1IgUmGo_AMApYhOrRg8SLg

So now that you have heard a little about me you may be asking why I am running a series of tournaments for TTS Marvel over a bunch of different time zones for you all to compete in. The simple reason is that I think tournaments are the best way to become a better player and are the best way to decide the simple question of… who is the best!

Tournaments vs leagues.  I have always preferred and played better in tournaments as a competitive player. Tournaments only give you minutes to assess your opponent’s roster and decide on a plan of attack, and you need to be flexible with this if you want to win as your opponent unveils their secret tech mid game to try and bamboozle you into a loss. They are fun, exciting and a way of getting in mass games for a game that you love with like minded individuals. Leagues are another way of doing this but favor the more prepared player as you sometimes have 5 or 6 days to stare at your opponent’s roster and prepare! Can our current TTS league powerhouses convert this on the day into a W? Only time will tell.

The goal is to run 3 tournaments over 3 time zones. Occurring 3 weeks apart for 9 weeks culminating into a 16 player invitation tournament where the top players from each tournament will be invited. Those players will be competing to see who is the best of the best from the 3 tournaments leading up to it!

Just some quick FAQs for you all and then onto the nitty gritty stuff.

Yes! There will be prize support and it is the good stuff. There will be an entry fee of 10 USD to facilitate this. Prizes to be announced as we are organizing it, but they are going to be for in person MCP games so they will be physical and for your enjoyment. Prizes will be for participation, top 4 and the winner of each tournament as well as participation prizes for the invitational and the winner of the invitational.

I’ll be running a commentary stream for all winner bracket rounds for the tournaments. If you are a streamer, you can stream your games unless I am running a commentary of said game. No other commentary streams will be running for the tournament. I am open to having my mind changed on this so feel free to talk to me if you want to! More MCP is good.

I’ll be hunting for some judges for the tournament days so if you are a current accuser and want to give this a go, please send me a PM. Yes, judges get prizes too. No judges don’t need to sit in on games, they just need to be on “hot standby” for any judge calls that people need for the day.

Any other questions please feel free to message me on my Von Gaming Facebook page located at https://www.facebook.com/VonDarkmorGaming  or check out the FAQ at the bottom of the page. You can also email me @vondarkmorgaming@gmail.com

Thanks a lot for competing and I look forward to seeing you all there!

<3 Von

Admin Prior to Tournament Start

  • Entry fee of 10 USD must be paid before you can compete. You can locate this under the blog/ news tab.
  • Sign up to the event on Table Top TO. You do not have to submit your roster to sign up. You will show as pending until approved by the organizer.
  • Sign ups for the UK/ European are now open - https://tabletop.to/von-gaming-masters-location-titan-uk-time-zone
  • Submit your roster prior to the deadline for each event. Roster deadlines are 1 hour prior to tournament start. Make sure your roster is LEGAL under current ban and restricted rules (See below).

Starting Each Round

  • Before the event starts and before each round starts, please make sure you are in the “Ready Room” voice channel.
  • Von will announce the start of each round and will give the end time of each round. Round times will be 105mins with 15 mins in between rounds for set up/ bathroom breaks/ drinks/ admin.
  • Table Top TO will be used to run the event so pairings will be posted there and simply go to your “table” voice chat to find your opponent. Voice channels will be labeled as Table 1, Table 2, etc.
  • Whoever has a more stable internet connection should make the TTS room and share the details with their opponent.
  • The room should be named as MCP and your table number. (EG: MCP1)
  • The room password should be 1234 to make this easier for judges to join.
  • When setting up the room, limit the number of people allowed to join as 8.
  • Show your opponent your roster and begin determining priority, crisis selection, table side, roster selection and deployment as soon as you join. Start no later than when the round timer is supposed to begin.

End of Round

  • When the “End of round” is announced, the game is finished. Determine the winner and submit your results into Table Top TO.
  • Both players must confirm the results. Make sure this is accurate and then select confirm before If this does not happen, Von will confirm results prior to the next round.

Tech Issues, Expectations & Resources

  • All players signing up to the event must be able to communicate with their opponent via Discord. Headset and mic are preferred.
  • Test your setup prior to the event. Run TTS on your PC and make sure your squad spawns correctly and attempt to iron out any issues you may think you could have.
  • Technology failures will result in a loss (EG: power failure).
  • No refunds will be awarded for any reason. Extra special circumstances can be looked at.
  • Know the basics of MCP on TTS. 2 games minimum is required to compete in this event as the 90 minute games will feel fast but are enough to finish the game.
  • Keep Table Top TO open on your browser. It has an inbuilt timer and will sound an alarm at the end of the round.
  • No slow playing. We understand some turns take extra consideration but try to maintain a sufficient pace out of respect for your opponent and other players. Intentional slow play will be punished by being removed from the competition.

Ban and Restricted Cards + Revised Cards

  • Whatever the latest ban and restricted list of cards is will be used for each tournament. If a new ban and restricted list is released the cut-off for using it will be 1 days prior to event start. IE: if it releases with less than 1 days before an event starts the previous list will be used.
  • The revised cards released by AMG prior to event start (EG: revised Hulk, Steve Rogers, ETC) will be used for these events.

Tie Breakers and Rounds

  • These will be 1-day events currently but open to discussion.
  • This will be a first to the finish style of events. First player to go undefeated will win.
  • There will be a 5-round cap on each day. If we have multiple undefeated at this point the tie breaker score will be used.
  • Any ties in the standings at the end of the day will be decided by Margin of Victory (MOV). I believe this to be the fairest way of deciding instead of Strength of Schedule (SOS) which is often decided by whoever’s opponent dropped from the tournament first has a weaker SOS and therefore loses.

Rules Questions/Judges

This event will have judges available for questions throughout the event.

  • If a judge is needed:
  • Both players should move over to the Judge Room voice channel.
  • Judges will speak with players and if need be, join the players' game on TTS to determine the correct outcome.
  • DO NOT call a Judge for range checks. TTS does all of this for you.
  • There is an option on the range rulers to turn on. Simply click the settings option and turn ON the “Within Range Indicator”. This will highlight green or red over target if they are in-range or out of range.
  • You can call a judge to check your push angle but as long as you have shadows turned on and you have hit the “throw/push” button on the template you are throwing with you should be able to determine this yourself.

FAQ

  • Is this event official or affiliated with AMG?
  • No
  • What is the deadline for roster submission on Table Top TO?
  • Deadline for roster submission is 1 hour before the event is due to start. Rosters will be checked for legality during the event so please make sure that you follow the rules as well as the rules for ban and restricted cards. Ideally the sooner it is submitted the better.
  • Are there prizes for these events?
  • Yes! There will be participation prizes, top 4 prizes, prizes for the winner as well as on-stream give-aways for those watching.
  • Rules questions
  • Stand MCP rules will be used for this event.
  • Ban and restricted list
  • Whatever the latest ban and restricted list is released by AMG will be used with a 2 day prior to the event cut-off. See above Ban and Restricted section for more.
  • Can I stream my games?
  • Yes, you can stream your games. If your game is to be commentated, I ask that you do not stream that game so that viewers are not split between multiple streams and creating confusion.
  • Can other people join my game to watch?
  • No. This is to ensure that no outside help is provided to yourself and your opponent during the game.
  • Can I get a refund and/or participation prize if I cancel/don’t show up?
  • No. This policy is to encourage people to show up once they have signed up for the event. Special circumstances will be looked at but the policy will be firm.
  • Will I be dropped if I don’t submit a list before the deadline?
  • Yes.
  • I signed up on Table Top TO but why does my sign up say pending?
  • Von must go through each sign up and match it to a receipt. As each is checked they are manually approved in Table Top TO.
  • How do I save my roster so I can load it in faster?
  • You have 2 options! Option one is taking everything out that you require, highlighting them all and right clicking and selecting “Save Object”. Name the roster whatever you want and then when you need it – Click the “Objects” menu in the upper center and select “Saved objects” and find what you need.

The second option (and more preferred option) is via the roster creator. Follow this video on how to do it.
