Shedden Truck and Tractor Pull 2019

Thank you for giving us the chance to seek your assistance with our upcoming event. Plans for the 46th annual Shedden Truck and Tractor Pull are in full throttle. New this year is an action packed, two- day event which will take place Friday June 14th & Saturday June 15th 2019.

Friday night will be the same loud, fun filled night as always thanks to sponsors like you. Pullers from all over the United States of America and Canada come to compete in numerous weight divisions to fight for points which are awarded by their respective clubs for a chance to be crowned champion at the end of the pulling season. The Shedden Truck & Tractor Pull is one of the first and one of the biggest events in their pulling season!

Saturday night is the first ever Wayne Whalls Memorial Tractor Pull. This pull will involve local competitors in various classes such as Stock Tractors, Stock Highway Trucks and Street Legal 4X4 Diesel pickups.

This year your sponsorship is for both nights with no extra donation. You get 2 nights for the price of one!

The Shedden Truck & Tractor Pull is a growing community event. The funds raised from this event will be donated to support local programs and activities for children and youth, as well as improvements within our local and surrounding communities. Over the past 14 years the committee has donated over $260,000 back into the communities. We could not do it without your help!

Attached is graphs showing the cost of our event and the people that have attended over the years.

In closing, we cannot thank you enough for giving us the opportunity to seek your support.

Thank You,
The Shedden Truck and Tractor Pull Committee

History: 46 Years

Tractor pulling was invented the day the second tractor rolled off the assembly line and since then has become one of the rural communities most popular pastimes. Ontario supported tractor pulling including the NTPA events dating back to the 1970’s with most venues located close to Shedden. Places like Delaware, Cayuga, Twin Creeks, and Brigden were very entertaining and successful with many local pullers competing in the NTPA.

Circa 1970:

Names as; Jack Grant (986 IH known as the Screamin Demon), Mark Cummings (Alky Hauler), Ken Goodhue (John Deere), Doug Mac Vicar (John Deere), Gordy Oughtred (D21 AC Canadian Hauler), Clare Henshaw (Hemi Modified), Art Helm (Noisy Lady), Frank Lafferty (My Way), and even Puller writer Dave Dann (MM U Py-Eyed Canary) all had a part in the fan base that to this day is still very strong. More recently the Empire State Tractor Pullers (Part of the Pro Pullers League) held a sanctioned event with four classes bringing a new level to the show.

In 1973 local pullers formed a committee dedicated to put on a quality event and support community activities. The first events were held on the same August weekend as the Shedden Fair but since then has become an annual event that stands alone as one of the area’s most successful attractions.
