ABOUT THE SHOW
At the Seam is an original fantasy investigative audio drama that follows Nyx, a fairy wisp journalist whose naïve ideals and stubborn curiosity pull her into the most dangerous story of her life.
In this world, the map is divided. Humans live in Caligor. The fae (magical animals and hybrids) live in Algrius. Between them lies the Seam: a dark, dangerous borderland, and the only place where humans and fae can meet.
When a human is found murdered by magic in the Seam, Nyx throws herself into the center of it despite every warning telling her not to. As tensions rise and secrets begin to surface, Nyx and her friends must uncover the truth before it’s too late. But asking questions sometimes comes with dangerous answers.
Can Nyx find the truth in time… or will the Seam claim another victim?
CONTENT WARNINGS: Violence intermittently throughout, either in discussion or depicted happening.
ABOUT ME
ATS Productions is simply me, Salena Metreger.
I’m a voice over artist, director, podcast producer, sound designer, and writer.
I created At the Seam because I love character-driven stories and rich fantasy worlds. And I wanted to bring to life something that I would want to listen to and hope others do too. I’m very excited about this story, and if all goes well, I have plans for more seasons!
You must be 18+ to audition.
While you are not required to disclose your exact age in order to audition, if it is determined that you are under 18, your audition will not be considered. If you are cast and later found to be under 18, you will be removed from the team immediately.
Additional Note: Although you must be 18 or older to audition, there will be NO sexually explicit content or excessively offensive language in At the Seam.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
CLOSES APRIL 22, 2026 11:59 p.m. PST
Failure to follow instructions will result in a disqualification.
- Use the same microphone you will be recording with.
- No more than 2 takes of each line in ABC ABC format
- Take 1 Line 1 / Take 1 Line 2 / Take 1 Line 3 / Take 2 Line 1 (etc)
- Please record and save as 44.1kHz, .mp3 file format.
- Label each audition as TheCharacter_YourName.mp3
- Example: Nindel_JohnSmith.mp3
- You may audition for as many characters as you like
- If applying for more than 1 role, please upload separate files for each.
- Do not put the files in a Zip or Rar folder, please.
- Do not apply any post-production editing to your audition.
- Remove unwanted mistakes and minimize breaths, but do not add any sound effects, compression or EQ.
- Do NOT Slate your audition
- Voice actors must have Discord and must be available for both table reads and live session recordings.
- We are looking for realistic with a touch of heightened character performances rather than over-the-top or anime-esque reads.

Remember, casting is not personal. We are casting purely based on who has the right tone and delivery for these specific characters.
Roles:
We are casting 9 roles for a 13-episode podcast. Not all characters will be present in every episode. You are free to audition for as many roles as you wish. Please indicate if you’re interested in playing additional minor side characters, whether selected for another role or not. Additional characters will be unpaid, but will receive IMDb credit.
Payment:
Each character pay rate is indicated. Final pay for the project as a whole will range from $25-$276 depending on role size and number of lines completed ($2/Line). This is a non-union project. Payment will be made via Paypal. All characters will receive IMDb credit.
Recording:
Each character will receive live direction during the recording process. You must be available and willing to meet for live recordings via discord. Each talent will be expected to record themselves and produce final files based on provided specs. Some re-takes may occur, but we will limit as best as we can.
AI Protection:
There will be no usage of AI in any part of this project. Your voice belongs to you! We will sign a NAVA rider, if desired.
Casting Notes: Trans, non-binary, and gender nonconforming voice actors are welcome to audition for any character they feel comfortable playing. People of color and those from other marginalized communities are also encouraged to audition.
Character References: Are simply guidelines and are not set in stone. We want to see what you can bring to the character.
NDA: Any person cast to any character, must be willing to sign an NDA.
Schedule: Auditions close XXXX XX. All auditions will be reviewed. Final cast determined (hopefully) by XXXX XX. Recording to start shortly after.
NINDEL (Nihn-dell) (He/Him)
Voice: Masculine
Character: An elder rabbit hybrid. He looks mostly like a rabbit, but he is much larger than an average rabbit = standing around 100 cm tall (39.3"). He’s educated and kind. His magic allows him to imbue any drink and he’s often partaking in his own magic. He is secretive though and whatever he’s hiding he’s scared of it.

Character: Rei is the leader of the magical animal world. He/She/They are charming, and friendly in public, with a very playful personality, but it is all just a show. Can be cruel and heartless. They are the main villain of the season. Do not audition, if you’re not okay with that!

BRODY (Broh-dee) (He/Him)
Voice: Masculine
Character: Brody, 19, is a human living in a magical world. He’s quick and kind with a lot of “street” smarts. He’s had to learn to hide who he is for most of his life so he approaches most things analytically and cautiously. Except when it comes to Eryn. He immediately puts on a big brother persona.

[Explanatory] Well I know that now. Then, I just had the stories I was told. Fire breathing dragons were supposed to be scary. But to 8-year-old me they were exciting.
[Serious to brotherly] So Eryn, Parak and I will stand guard until you return. Keeping the tunnel entrance safe. Right Eryn? You can do that with me?
[Amused, Proud] Not real. Gurtz made them for me. Pretty impressive, eh? That's some magic he has. Has fooled everyone for over a decade now.
PARAK (PUH-ROCK) (She/Her)
Voice: Female, lower registers
Character: She's tall - 190.5 cm (75") with an extremely muscular build. Her pale green skin is marked with subtle scars along her arms, chest and face. She wears an eye patch over one eye and a bandana to help keep her long red hair out of her face. Her tusks aren't the longest, but they're still sharp. She is a Seeker. Her magic allows her to find animals that are lost. She’s serious, hardened, and difficult to read. She’s loyal to a fault, but don’t get on her bad side.

Voice: Child-like (Must be 18+ to audition)
Character: A sweet, young fox hybrid, (7-9 years old). 127 cm tall (50") Their body is mostly human, but with wide cerulean eyes, fox ears tipped in black with strawberry blonde fur that melded and mixed with strawberry blond hair and a few adorable whiskers. Their magic is invisibility. They are young, but not dumb, having been orphaned at a young age and made to be a spy for the felines. Starts off scared for their life, but becomes more talkative as they get comfortable. Very inquisitive by nature.

Voice: Male
Character: Average male human, 40-50s with brown hair starting to turn gray. He is a human resource specialist for Caligor University where he met his husband, Dr. Thaddeus Sullivan. He’s educated with a playful personality at times. But with a dark shadow over him as his husband was the one murdered in the Seam. He believes in his gut on who to trust and who not to.

[Reminiscing, happy] We had a good laugh about it later. MUCH later. When I learned Teddy wasn't an asshole, just very stressed in his pursuit of his PhD.
[Direct] I believe that you are, Miss Fidinda. But why don't you ask what you really want to know about.

Character: Just a Beetle - but one of those massive Titan beetles. They are the ruler of the underground magical animals. They have lived many, many years, and have seen many changes. They are very protective of their “people”, but they also rule with their best interest in mind. Nickname is Boop.

DR MILICA TAN (MILL-UH-KUH TAYN) (She/Her)
Voice: Female
Character: Milica is a human woman with a no-nonsense attitude. She runs Caligor University and the negotiations with the magical animals. She’s stern, direct and isn’t shy about her disdain for Algriuns who she sees as less than and uneducated brutes. She commands attention and doesn’t put up with anyone’s bullshit, which is how she got into such a powerful position anyways. She was the boss of Dr. Thaddeus Sullivan who was murdered on an assignment she gave him. She clearly blames Algrius.

[Annoyed, disparaging] But of course, Algrius couldn't just leave that well enough alone. Using a child as a spy. Barbaric, if you ask me.
DETECTIVE ARGYROS (ARR-JUR-RAHS)
Voice: OPEN
Character: They are an orc unicorn hybrid. They are massive with a deep yellow unicorn horn and a body built like an orc. They have dark purple fur poking out of their uniform at the hands and neck. Their face holds subtle human features but a mane like a unicorn and small orc tusks. They wear large gold-hoop earrings. Their magic is incredible strength, but they’ve mastered not breaking everything they touch. They take their job and life seriously. They have an odd sense of humor, usually at the expense of other hybrids. They often are impatient with anyone except those who rank higher than them, but aren’t afraid to speak their mind in any company.

[Distantly but getting closer] There's been nothing for weeks. Are you sure she's not dead?

There are a handful of one-off lines by a variety of characters from humans to magical animals. All manner of voices and accents are welcome. This is a diverse cast of characters. These are unpaid lines, but will receive IMDb credit.
There will be a question on the form to indicate if you are willing to perform one/more of these characters even if you’re not selected for another character.
