The human being is a social animal. We like to hang out with each other. We show love for each other, and sometimes hate. We say nice things to each other and sometimes not-so-nice. In both cases, it's the latter that causes hurt, sometimes done unknowingly.
Though it is always good to apologize at any time, the time of Paryushan gives us a special opportunity to ask for forgiveness from all.
To that, we would like to take this timely opportunity, and on this very auspicious occasion, to say that if we have hurt you, knowingly or unknowingly, we sincerely ask for your forgiveness ...

Paryushan Maha Parva - 2014
Jain Study Center of North Carolina observed Paryushan from Aug 23 - 30. The occasion included Puja on the first and last days, mixed in with a Bhavana and finally Samvatsari on Saturday. Thanks to Arvindbhai and Arunaben Shah, and Kiritbhai and Jyotiben Shah, many of us took the advantage of doing daily Pratikramans at their house. And thanks also to Maheshbhai and Induben Varia for hosting the Samvatsari Pratikraman on Saturday to a packed house.
Also, many thanks to our singers and musicians at the Bhavana. Mr. Arvindbhai Shah, Mr. Mayurbhai Lodaya, Mr. Pratyushbhai Mehta and Mr. Dilipbhai Shah did a splendid job at leading many stavans and dhuns.
And, a huge recognition to the many tapasvis who did their fasting anywhere from a day to 10 days! Here are some of the tapasvis who took it all through the Paryushan ...

Scholar Visits for 2014
JSCNC is fortunate to host 2-3 scholars each year even though we are a relatively small center. Last week, we had Shri Dhirjlal Panditji visit our center and the committee would like to thank Shri Kiritbhai & Jyotiben Shah, and Shri Maheshbhai and Induben Varia for hosting him and also arranging engaging discourses.
As we announced previously, we will have Saman Shrutpragyaji visit us during the camp.
We want to thank everyone who contributed to the Scholar Fund earlier this year. If anyone is still interested in contributing, please contact Anand Shah or Pratyush Mehta.
Please continue to refer to the below link for your assignments.
Please visit http://www.jscnc.org and click Events. The calendar has the most up-to-date listing of all confirmed activities for the year. All the tithis (Lunar Days) are also posted on the online calendar. Here is a list of some key dates:
Pathshala classes are held every first Sunday of the month from 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. in the Hindu Temple Cultural Hall AND on 3rd Sundays during the monthly meeting. If you plan to attend and/or need more information, please contact the Pathshala teachers at JSCNCpathshala@yahoo.com.
