  1. Matt Hall

Matt is from Two Rivers, AK, and calls his home town Eagle, AK.  He is returning to the Copper Basin 300 after finishing first in  2016. He also placed 4th in the 2016 Yukon Quest.

     2. Allen Moore


Allen is from Two Rivers, AK. He has been racing for 20  years and is returning to the Copper Basin 300 after finishing third in 2016. Allen has run the CB300 every year since 2002, and won the race 6 times.  He plans to run the Iditarod this year, as well.

     3. Ryne Olson


Ryne is from Two Rivers, AK. She has been racing for 7 years, and is returning to the Copper Basin 300 after placing 2nd last year & receiving vet care award. In 2015, she placed 3rd in the CB300 and was recognized as Rookie of the Year.

     4.  Sebastian Schnuelle


Sebastian’s home town is Juneau, AK although he currently lives in Two Rivers, AK. He has  been racing for 16 years , having competed in multiple Iditarods and CB300 races. “Long ago, I was the Quest Champion”, he says. Sebastian is planning to race in the Iditarod again this year.

5. Aliy Zirkle


Aliy Zirkle is from Two Rivers, AK and has been racing for 20 years. She has raced in the CB300 for five years. In 2016, she finished in 4th place.  She plans to race in the 2017 Iditarod and has run it multiple times before.

6. Nicolas Petit


Nicolas is from Girdwood, and is currently living in Willow, AK. He is returning to the CB300 this year after placing 5th in the 2016 and 2nd in 2015.   He has been racing seven years. He plans to run his 7th Iditarod this year.

7. Dave Delcourt


            Dave hails from Queensbury, New York, but calls Wasilla home. He is returning to the CB300 after  

             finishing  10th in 2016. He has been racing two years. He also plans to race in the Iditarod this year.

8. Christopher Parker


Christopher is from Butte, MT but currently lives in Two Rivers, Alaska.  This is his second year racing. He is a rookie in the CB300 this year.

Emily is from Iowa City, Iowa, but now calls Wasilla, AK home. This is her second year racing, and she is a rookie in this year’s race.


12. Will Rhodes


Will has been racing for 3 years, and is a rookie in this year’s CB300. His hometown is Crescent City, CA, and he currently lives in Two Rivers, AK. His past races include: 2013 Solstice 50 (4th), 2014 Two Rivers 200(2nd), 2014 Nenana Tripod (2nd), 2015 Solstice 100 (1st), 2015 Knik 200 (1st), and 2016 Two Rivers 200 (1st).

13. Bradley Farquar


Bradley is from San Francisco, CA but currently calls Fairbanks, AK his home base. This is his second year of racing, and he is a rookie in this year’s CB300.

He says:”Growing up I watched the movie ‘Iron Will’ at my grandmother’s house. Ever since I always wanted to mush. The stars have aligned for me and I am now chasing my childhood dream.”


14. Meredith Mapes


Meredith is from Palmer, AK but currently lives in Knik. She has been racing for 16 years and will be a rookie in this year’s CB300.

15. Charley Benja


Charley grew up in Addison, Illinois, but now calls Wasilla, AK  home.


16. Tim Muto


Tim is from Mundelein, IL, and has been living and working in Eureka, AK for the past 3 years with Wild and Free Mushing. Tim ran the 2016 Copper Basin 300, Two Rivers 200, and Yukon Quest 300 with kennel yearlings, and most of these dogs will fill his team this year. Tim wants to be the best person and musher he can be, and wants to develop his own dog team in the future.

17. Riley Dyche


Riley is from Shenandoah, Iowa, and currently lives in Fox, AK. He has been racing for 4 years. This is his second CB300. He will be running a team of yearlings led by his main leader, Neptune, who is the mother of the majority of his team.

Sebastien is from Chartres, France, and currently lives in Chazey-Bons, France. He has been racing for 23 years.

19. Paige Drobny

         


Paige calls Fairbanks her home town, and she lives there currently. She has been racing for 10 years, and placed 9th in the 2014 and 2015 CB300s. She has raced the Iditarod multiple times, placing 43rd in 2016 and  27th in 2015. In the Yukon Quest 1000, she placed 14th and also was awarded the Sportsmanship Award in 2012. She has run the Top of the World, Yukon Quest 300 multiple times, and the Gin Gin 200.

20. Cindy Abbott


Cindy, a retired California State University instructor of health science,  moved from California to Alaska in 2011 to learn how to run sled dogs. She fell in love with the sport, Alaskan people & culture, and the world’s most amazing athletes : sled dogs! After  the 2015 Iditarod, Cindy & her husband decided to settle in AK, bought land and built a house near the Dream a Dream dog farm in Willow, AK.  Cindy has since run in the Iditarod,Yukon Quest 300, Top of the World 350, Copper Basin 300, Northern Lights 300, and Knik 200, despite her 2007 diagnosis with a rare disease, Wegener’s granulomatosis.

21. Magnus Kaltenborn


Magnus’ home town is Lillehammer, Norway, and he currently lives in Mount Lorne, Yukon Territory. He has been racing 8 years and hasn’t decided yet whether he is running the Iditarod in 2017. He finished 19th in the 2010 CB300, and has previously run the Iditarod, Knik 200, and Yukon Quest 300.

His sponsor is Caribou Crossing Trading Post, and he thanks Maren Bradley, friends, and family.

22.Cody Strathe


Cody ‘s hometown is Ester, AK, and he is currently living in Eureka. He been mushing in 2007, and has been racing for 6 years. He has previously raced in the CB300, finishing 10th in 2015 & 2014, 9th as well as the Vet’s Choice Award in 2013, and 28th in 2011. Cody finished 42nd in the 2016 Iditarod, and has muliple finishes in the GinGin 200, Two Rivers 200, and Yukon Quest. He has raced in the Chatanika 200 and Solstice 100.

23. Jennifer LaBar


Jennifer’s hometown is Knoxville, Tennessee and she currently lives in Healy, AK. This is her first year racing, and she started mushing in 2011 with Sonny Lindner. She is a rookie in this year’s CB300. Her lead dogs are Yumi(3 yrs) and Manny(2 yrs).

24. Michelle Phillips


Michelle is from and currently lives in Carcross, Yukon Territory. She has previously raced in the CB300, Yukon Quest, and Iditarod races, and has been racing 17 years. She plans to run the 2017 Iditarod.

25. Fabien Barrioz


Fabien’s hometown is Voiron, France, and he currently lives in Renurel, France. In November he will be relocating to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, to get ready for the racing season. Fabien started mushing for an expedition in Siberia with Nicolas Vanier in 2013, and in 2014 he ran the GinGin 200. He has been racing for 5 years, and is a rookie in this year’s CB300. He also plans to run the GinGin 200 and is waitlisted on the Yukon Quest 300. His best lead dog is Miwok, 6 years old:”He is incredible!”

26. Torsten Kohnert


Torsten’s hometown is Slussfors, Sweden, and he is currently living in Fairbanks, AK. He has previously run the Copper Basin 300, and he received the Vet Care/Humanitarian Award in the CB300 in 2016.

Misha hails from Prague, Czech Republic.  She is currently living in Willow, AK. She has raced for 16 years. In addition to returning to the CB300 this year, she will also be running in the 2017 Iditarod. Her lead dogs are Molly, Paper and Harley.

Anja is from Talkeetna, AK where she currently lives. She has been racing for 12 years, mushing for 14.She has run in the Dom Bowers 200,  Gin Gin 150, Cantwell Classic 200, Two Rivers 200, Knik 100,and  Denali Doubles.  She will be a rookie in this year’s CB300.  Her lead dogs are Bubbles (6) and Eggs(5).

Michi’s home town is Sapporo, Japan. He is living in Willow, AK and has been mushing for 20 years, mostly in sprint mushing. He will be a rookie in this year’s CB300, and hopes to use this race as an Iditarod Qualifier. He says, “Participating in the Iditarod is one of my last dreams to fulfill”.  He is running with Raymie Redington’s kennel.

Peter is from Bloomingdale, New York, in the Adirondacks, and has been running dogs in Alaska since 2012. He has handled for various racers and gives summer tours on the Punchbowl Glacier in Girdwood. This will be his second CB300. Peter has also raced in the Kuskokwim 300, Yukon Quest 300, and GinGin200.

Otto lives in Budapest, and may be the first Hungarian to race in the Copper Basin 300.  This is his second CB300. He is fulfilling a childhood dream that came from reading Jack London. As an adult,he spent a decade as a network marketing sales leader, motivational speaker and bestselling author. He reached a “now or never” point and realized it was time to fulfill his dream-qualify for and run the Iditarod. He has been training with Dallas Seavey,and will  running the Copper Basin 300 with Seavey’s “B” Team.

Martin is from Narjordet, Norway.He is living in Kaktovik, AK, having spent a number of summers there. This is his first winter in Alaska. He started dog mushing 15 years ago, when he was 4.  He is fairly new to dog sled racing, will be a rookie in this year’s CB300,and hopes to qualify for the Iditarod. He is a two-time finisher of Femund Junior around Roros in Norway.
