Dear Sir,
Mr. de Laszlo has just received your message through Mr. Robertson,[1] and has asked me to write. He hopes you will forgive his not writing you himself, but he is very much occupied today, and does not want to lose time in replying to your message.
Mr. de Laszlo understands from Mr. Robertson that you intend to leave for Australia on January 22nd, and that you would like to have the portraits [7014][3918][3919] painted before then, and he wishes me to say that he could arrange to come the second week of January and would be very glad to have a little change just then. It would mean rearranging appointments which he has already made, however, so would you very kindly let him know by return what you have decided.
If convenient to you, Mr. de Laszlo could travel north on the evening of Friday, January 6th, and be with you on the morning of the 7th, with his Studio Assistant.
I am enclosing herewith a note of Mr. de Laszlo’s honoraria, and he would require to know exactly which size you decide upon, in order to have the canvas prepared to bring with him. He would also be glad to know if you would agree to his
