  1. Posadas – Denman Pride store, $150 supplies
  1. Discussion: concern about store items, one time per year
  1. Posadas – Filipino Club (20-40 students) cultural food supplies, $150
  2. Both grants approved by acclamation (proposed CB, seconded LAB)
  1. Community Report (CB)
  1. Lowe’s grant – funds have been spent
  1. Discussion about the allocation of the purchased folding tables – some to Food Bank, some to be stored by PTSA (can be used upon request by various JDMS personnel)
  1. Hands On Bay Area painted lines in the school yard on Saturday, November 7
  2. Excelsior Action Grant – 4 soccer goals ordered, looking for volunteers to assemble and bolt
  3. In 2017, the school will undergo renovation, we should consider this with future community projects
  4. Fitness room: Ms. Meeker received an external grant for mats
  1. Mats need to be picked up and brought to Denman, $100; looking for fundraising ideas for this
  1. Community Challenge Grant (Bonnie Ora Sherk)
  1. Bonnie received a $100,000 grant for a living library at Denman; 18 month project
  2. Looking for ideas; if you’re interested in participating, contact bonnieora@alivinglibrary.org
  1. Volunteer Opportunities (SG)
  1. PTA Art Contest – need volunteer to coordinate judging, publicize
  2. PE Laundry – SFUSD will be installing the utility hookups for the donated appliances; need volunteers to help with washes until the laundry system is operational (sign up at the PTSA website)
  3. Library volunteers – monitor at lunch (12:30 pm MTuThF, 12:45 pm Wednesdays)
  4. Traffic volunteers for special needs buses (morning drop-off time, afternoon pick-up time)
  5. Safety advocacy group
  6. Beacon Thanksgiving baskets – please donate food
  7. Parent-Teacher Conferences – need volunteers to set up coffee, fruit in the mornings
  1. New business
  1. Michelle Camp will contact more parents to join PTSA
