DLA019-0282 Translation
LONDON,
28th December 1932.
Colonel Alessandro Cordano
Administrative Office of the Greek Royal Household
Via Bolognese n.80
Florence.
Sir,
I have duly received your letter of the 24th December,[1] and today, Mr. de Laszlo is making arrangements to settle the invoice of Humbert’s.
Mr de Laszlo also desires me to say that during her last visit to his studio, H.R.H. Princess Helen of Roumania[2] inquired about the price of the portrait of H.R.H. Princess Irene of Greece that was commissioned by her Late Majesty Queen Sophia of Greece,[3] and that remains in the studio [7825].
In the current circumstances, Mr de Laszlo would ask for the exceptional sum of £150 for this painting, but he begs you as well as H.R.H. Princess Helen to keep this figure confidential.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Secretary
