Definition from By-Laws:
“Past President: The president, upon completion of his/her term, will serve for one year as past-president of the chapter. The past-president will at times serve as a consultant to the board and may be appointed to serve as a chairperson of a standing committee.”
II. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: General
The Past President provides unique and generalized advice and support to the Board and the President, based on his/her immediate past experience as President. Continues and completes special projects initiated under his/her Presidency.
III. POSITION FUNCTIONS/ACTIVITIES: Specific
- Introduces incoming officers at Annual Holiday Social/Installation of Officers meeting in December.
- Helps organize the Annual Board Retreat, i.e. proposes sites and costs to Board for approval, makes arrangements, sends invitations and coordinates the event.
- Organizes and chairs the annual Nominating Committee according to Articles VII J and VIII B of the By-Laws. Consults directly (or via Directors-at-Large) with Committee Chairs about potential candidates. Coordinates the development of candidate biographies to be included in the official ballots to be distributed in the October 1 deadline Newsletter.
