‘Preparing each child for their future in an ever-changing world’

NEWSLETTER 28                                                                12th May 2017

From the Headteacher

Year 6 SATs

Well done to all Year 6 children, they have all worked hard and did their very best this week.  Mrs Dobson and I were so impressed at how calm and focussed they all were.

They have a party this afternoon to celebrate the end of the tests and wrote to local businesses who have very kindly donated sweets, drinks and other things to enjoy!

Sponsored Walk - Monday 15th May

Just a reminder to keep collecting for the sponsored walk on Monday.

The money will go towards the children working with an artist to create a large mosaic (see example) for each of our school values. The mosaics will then be permanently displayed around the outside of the school.

Please click here for a copy of the sponsored walk form or if you would like a hard copy please collect one from the school office.

Please send your child with weather appropriate clothing and sensible footwear.

Yenworthy Assembly

Year 6 parents are invited to join us at our assembly on Friday 9th June at 2.30 where the children will share their experiences of their residential trip.

Contacting the School in the Afternoon

It has been drawn to my attention that some parents have had difficulty in contacting the School office around 3.00pm. Please bear in mind that we only have one person in the office and that this is always a busy time of day with both visitors to Reception and other incoming calls (we do have more than one incoming line). Please leave a message so your call can be actioned..

Transition Visit - Years 5 & 6

This is just a quick reminder that the joint St Birinus and Didcot Girls’ Transition visit is taking place at Hagbourne Primary on Tuesday 16th May at 9 am. The member of staff attending from St Birinus will be Miss Megan Froud-Davis.

All Year 5 and 6 parents are invited to attend.

Veggie Patch Volunteers Required!

We are keen to get going with our garden and need some help in digging over the patch so we can get some plants and seeds in.

It shouldn’t take long with a couple of helpers and the children can then hone their growing skills!

If you can help, please contact Jilly Corcoran or leave a message at the School Office.

Primary School Health Newsletter

We are delighted to attach the Term 5 newsletter from the Primary School Health Nurse team. As you will note there are embedded links in the newsletter, which allow parents access to a wider scope of health information. Please contact your School Health Nurse if you have any questions:
