Important 2017 Summer School Updates

Because our summer school program has experienced amazing growth over the past few years, we have had to implement some changes to our policies and registration procedures.  Please be sure to familiarize yourself with these changes, as we will have to adhere to them to keep our program running smoothly.

Registration Information

Online Registration for summer school will open Tuesday, April 4, at 3:30pm and will close Friday, April 21 at 3:30pm.   A link for the course booklet will be listed above.  There is a new program for online registration this year.  A guide for registration will also be linked above.  Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the program before registering your child(ren).  It is very important when selecting classes that you select the correct location and grade level. There are several classes that are offered at both Hemlock Creek and Westwood.  Grade level is the grade your child will be in for 2017-2018 school year.

The summer school office at Hemlock Creek will be open from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April, 6  to provide assistance to families who do not have online computer access or need assistance signing up for classes.

Payment Information

In order to complete the registration process you will be required to pay for the class(es) via credit card or check.

Your child will not be registered for classes if the payment is not processed during registration. You will be charged

2.99% of the total cost, plus .35 cents service fee which is paid directly to the company providing the service.

West De Pere School District does not receive any portion of this fee.

If assistance is needed in regard to completing this step on-line please contact the Summer School office.

Fallen Timbers

If you register your child for Fallen Timbers, a signed permission must be on file in order for your child to participate.

Please print off the permission slip from the link above and return to school by May 10th.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

To keep class costs affordable, refunds will only be issued if a class is canceled by the Summer School Director or because of a family/medical emergency. No refunds will be given for classes once they have started.

All classes are subject to cancellation by the Summer School Director. Any class that does not have sufficient enrollment may be canceled. If a class is canceled, alternative classes will be available.

Schedules and Confirmations

Confirmations will be sent via email once your registration is completed and payment accepted.  Please print out a copy of the confirmation for the child’s first day.  There will NOT be student slips printed for the first day as in past years.


Parents must provide transportation for the Summer School Program. The exception to this is the shuttle between sites for the 10:00 a.m. class.  The shuttle will provide transportation between the 8:00 & 10:00 classes  for those students taking the Intro to Phantom tennis at  West De Pere High School to and from the Middle School.

College or High School Summer School Opportunities

College or high school students interested in Summer School Employment or volunteer hours:

Application deadline: April 21, 2017 at 3:00 P.M.

Interviews will be held the week of May 1, 2017

If selected for an interview you will be contacted by Mr. Kowalcyzk via email to set up the time and date.

All opening are based on enrollment and will be determined by mid-May.

If you have worked for summer school in the past please submit a cover letter expressing your interest in this years program via e-mail to Mr. Kowalczyk at mkowalczyk@wdpsd.com by April 21, 2017.

Volunteer Opportunities

If you are a high school student interested in volunteering for summer school please send an email expressing your interest to Mr. Kowalczyk at mkowalczyk@wdpsd.com by May 12, 2017.

Soaring Through Summer

Soaring Through Summer is a “by invitation only” course, that will help students continue to develop and maintain their reading skills that he/she learned during the school year. We have found that a number of our students experience learning losses during the summer, and we are committed to ensuring that the students do not experience such learning loss this summer.  “Soaring Through Summer” is fun, engaging, and will be similar to many other summer school courses.
