2H - Engine briefly loses power every 10 seconds or so
Symptoms
Cause
The EDIC (Electronic Diesel Injection Control) system has a fault.
Resolution
This is a common problem with 2H engines. The EDIC is cycling to STOP briefly. It is usually caused by poor engine or body earths.
To fix it, remake all your earth points, especially the major engine and body earths (use new terminals or cables if necessary, wire wheel the attachment points before connecting).
Pay particular attention to the two “earth junctions” in the cabin. One behind the driver’s side kick panel, and one behind the passenger side kick panel. They are 8 pin 250 series Automotive Connectors. Each has 8 wires attached to them and a small “busbar” joining them all together. These should be cleaned up.
The small removable busbar that should be pulled out and cleaned up with circuit board cleaner and a light bit of abrasion to get them nice and shiny and clean.

Passenger side view - looking up from the floor - you can see the connector tucked up to the side of the blower motor.
If a full earth cleanup doesn't resolve it then you may have a faulty EDIC motor or Fuel Control Relay. Some people have reported success with cleaning up contacts in the EDIC Motor and others have opened up the Fuel Control Relay and resolved PCB issues.
If nothing else resolves it, a simple, possibly long term solution, is to leave the EDIC rod off and to fit a "stop cable", not ideal, but it works. A few “stop cable” images can be found here that will give you some idea how to make one: https://photos.app.goo.gl/C1cotdMzRNjLqjnm7
If you do have a Fuel Control Relay fault, Ray Saggal from Hendra Motors (https://www.hendramotors.com/) sells a great aftermarket Fuel Control Relay. It is a plug in replacement for the factory unit, a really superb bit of kit. There’s a couple of aftermarket options around, the Hendra Motors unit is absolutely the best quality replacemen (also - many thanks to Ray for some of the photos in this article!)
On an HJ60 the Fuel Control Relay is found in the right hand side footwell - you can see a full set of images of the FCR here https://photos.app.goo.gl/Ew6QXwQeNijUkghA8
Very temporary workaround
If you still have issues after remaking all your earths you can pop the EDIC rod off and it'll stop the problem, but you'll have to stall the vehicle to stop it.
Below is a photo of the EDIC Rod.. Popping this off will default the injection pump to the RUN position. The EDIC Rod is connected to the EDIC Motor on one end, and the Fuel Control Lever of the injection pump on the other.
