Dear Mr de Laszlo,
It was one of the pleasantest surprises I have had for a long time to receive your cordial note of 30th[1] and to hear that you are in town; more especially as I thought you might well be annoyed with me for giving an unknown artist an introduction to you.[2] It struck me too, as a little “anmassend” [arrogant] after not having seen you for such a long time but, as I explained to you I had not much choice.
I shall, of course, be delighted to call on you and am looking forward to the pleasure of seeing you again. As I happen to be in town for a few days, I propose to ring up your secretary early next week and ask if you are disengaged after 5 o’clock that day. I shall also try to tell Mr Young

to call on the same day; I know that he will consider himself very lucky that you can spare the time, but please “abfertigen”[inform] him quickly, so that we can have a talk. I haven’t seen any of your work since your portrait of the D. of York [possibly [9123] or [4460]].
I hope the projected “cure” is nothing serious.. Many thanks.
Yours sincerely
Oakley Williams.
