Sheldon mindfulness 

We meet every Thursday at lunch in room 314 with Ms. McIntyre - we finish by 12:30. Come and learn how to find calm in a chaotic world. Everyone welcome. No experience necessary.

Sheldon’s Craft Club
Bring your favourite craft to work on, or come by to learn how to crochet, knit, or many other crafts. We will be having a whole series of workshops throughout the year so that we can all learn something new!

Craft club is held on Mondays & Fridays at lunch in the ART ROOM

Coding & Robotics Club

Join us in the computer lab (309) after school until 4:30 every WEDNESDAY.

Everyone is welcome - whether you already know how to code, or have no idea what coding* is - come on by, and you can learn how to do something new in programming!
If you have questions or want to find out more, come see Mrs. Mishra in room 216 or 217

*Coding is programming computers to create your own programs, games, animations, websites, drawings, and much more! There are a variety of computer languages that are used, which is why using these languages is like writing in a secret code!

Grade 11 & 12 Canoeing Trip to Morning Lake (Wyatt, Sundeen, Hanline, Bonin, Steve) - IF INTERESTED SEE SUNDEEN

  • June 22-26, 2017
  • 40 km with a total of 6 portages planned
  • $100.00 will be the fee for this trip - includes transport, canoe rental and accommodations
  • You will have to purchase food with your food group for this trip
  • We will be completing some fundraising for this trip
  • Students will have the opportunity to make their own canoe paddle with Mr. Hanline as an extracurricular activity
  • 16 hours of canoeing prior to trip:
  • First two sessions Wascana Lake
  • T- rescues will be completed on a Saturday
  • May/June 5-7 sessions at Wascana Lake after school

Grade 9-12 Spring Camping Trip to Douglas Provincial Park (Wyatt/Bonin/Bilokury)

  • May 5-7, 2017 
  • leave after school on Friday and return by 4:00 pm on Sunday
  • $65 includes food, transportation and park fees.

Calling all yearbook members!!!

If you enjoy taking pictures, captioning, being creative and want to help make a piece of history, you need to join yearbook!

Meetings are every Wednesday at 3:30 in room 102. See you there!

The yearbook committee is hard at work on the 2016-2017 yearbook and it is looking fabulous! If any student and  or staff want to purchase this stellar yearbook they have until May 5th to order . Not only will you have an amazing  yearbook coming to you in the fall but you will also be entered to win dinner and a movie for two, just for purchasing a yearbook. Yearbooks are $40 and can be purchased in the office or online. Get one before it’s too late!

 

YOGA

Yoga is back! Yoga is coming back to Sheldon beginning on Thursday May 4th after school from 3:30-4:15. We will meet in the Auditorium Foyer. If the weather cooperates we will practice outside whenever possible. Come out for some stretching , laughs and good vibes!

 

PRIDE CLUB- Meeting Thurs, May 25th after school in the library.Reminder: Campbell Prom May 26th. Tickets are $10. Come see Ms.Lane if you are interested.

PAGE TURNERS- Next meeting is today, Monday, May 29th after school in the library. We are discussing how far to read in City of Saints and Thieves and our final meeting at Hotel Sask.

Our BOOK OF THE MONTH for May is actually a whole selection of LGBTQ books. Please come and see our display in the library.

The Access Communications Scholarship will be awarding $1,000 to 20 graduating students who demonstrate exemplary community involvement.   Full details and application forms can be found at www.MyAccess.ca/InTheCommunity. Submission deadline is April 20, 2017.

Affinity Credit Union has scholarships available for grade 11 and grade 12 students.  Check out the posters on the bulletin board outside of the guidance area.

In school scholarships and bursaries can now be picked up in guidance.  Forms are due May 15th
