City View United Church is putting together a special church service on November 11th, to observe Remembrance Day in a special way. Scouts are invited to wear their full uniform if they attend this service.
Horticultural Society Dinner
As in previous years, the Horticultural Society is having a dinner on Thursday, November 15th, at City View United Church. We are invited to help them out by clearing the dishes. This is a fundraising effort for our Troop and the time spent at this event can be counted as volunteer hours. Scouts volunteering for this event must wear full uniform and arrive at church at 7PM. Scouts will be done at 9PM. We will need names of volunteers by Monday, Nov. 12th.
As in previous years, the Scouts will help out at the City View United Church Bazaar, held on November 17th. Volunteers are asked to come in full uniform, from 08:30am to 2:30PM. Bring a lunch or pocket money as many goods are for sale. The time spent at this event counts towards volunteer hours. We will need names of volunteers for this activity by Monday, Nov. 12th.
Santa Claus Parade
As in previous years, the Scouts will help out at the Ottawa Santa Claus Parade, held on November 17th. Volunteers are asked to come in full uniform and dressed for the weather (long sleeves under shirt). Scouts may wear festive hats. Scouts have to be at City Hall at 10:15am. The Scouts follow the parade from 11:00 to 12:00, picking up donations. Lunch is served for volunteers. Scouts will be ready for pick up at TD Place at 1:00PM.
We will need names of volunteers for this activity by Monday, Nov. 12th.
On November 19th, the Scout Troop will meet downtown for a urban walk. More details to come.
The forms and monies for popcorn are due on Saturday, Oct, 20th (Canoe Shed Cleanup). If you can not return the forms at that time, please contact Sea Scouter James (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The Troop has agreed to the following:
-first 2 meetings of the month are to be in full uniform (Scout shirt with Necker)
-remaining meetings are to be in an activity shirt: A navy shirt with necker for 115th Scouts or a green shirt with necker for 72nd Scouts or a Scout t-shirt, any colour, with necker
-for outings, Scouts are to wear their necker (no woggle)
The troop held a session to generate some ideas for activities they would like to incorporate into our 2018/2019 plan. You’ll find the results below. The next step will be to fit these activities into the calendar and start the plans for each of the activities that make it into the overall plan.
