NIH has clarified its new "Additional Educational Information" requirement for F32 postdoctoral fellowships. Applications must include, as part of "Other Attachments", an attachment describing available resources such as might be "associated with an Office of Postdoctoral Affairs."  This information may be provided by the mentor or department chair.

JHPDA Event: Postdoc Research Presentation Club

The Postdoctoral Research Presentation Club is looking for members and speakers! Practice a research talk and receive friendly feedback from an audience of postdoctoral fellows and graduate students. Native English speakers and ESL speakers alike are encouraged to participate.

Teaching Fellows Programs - NOW Accepting Applications 6/10-7/11

Attention all East Baltimore Postdocs and 2+ year Graduate Students! Interested in a career with a major teaching component? Interested in gaining mentored teaching experience at a local college or university? The PDO offers opportunities to gain experience in the practice and pedagogy of teaching undergraduate students in mentored programs at five local institutions. Johns Hopkins has partnered with the University of Maryland School of Medicine to expand the Teaching Fellow Programs.

Teaching sites now include: Notre Dame University of Maryland*, Towson University, Loyola University of Maryland, Goucher College, and Stevenson University


Please read the program descriptions carefully as there are different time commitments, requirements and expectations. You may apply to one or more of the programs if you meet the qualifications. Your Research Career – Summer Intersession

This intensive five-day course introduces JHMI professional students, graduate students and fellows to the most important uses for scientific communication. Learn how to apply for your first NIH or other peer-reviewed grant (Mon-Tue); how to write a research paper (Thu) ; and how to plan, organize and deliver an effective research talk or poster, including appropriate design and use of graphics (Fri). Wednesday will cover various aspects of Research Leadership for students.


When: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, July 14, 15, 17, 18, 2014, 9:00am – 12:30pm (Students and Postdocs):  You may attend any or all days

Wednesday, July 16, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm  (Students ONLY)
