Call to Order |
|
General- We introduced ourselves around the table.
- Kelly shared that we’ve set a fair amount of the calendar events early on.
- This year, events will only be locked in when they’ve got an assigned person coordinating them.
- Outreach to parents, teachers:
- Discussed creating an outreach video to share the different ways people can volunteer.
- Focusing on asking for small tasks, as opposed to overwhelming tasks
- We want to let teachers know they can ask us for help.
- Can work via Room Parents on that.
- Open House events could be a good place to reach out to families.
- Recommendation for varying meeting times to make it easier for a variety of parents to attend, via zoom as well, especially if folks live further away.
| - Email outreach to staff (Kelly)
- Plan for outreach video (Kristen)
- Offer other meeting times to connect with CPTO (Kelly)
|
Potluck- Friday, Sept 27th.
- Caroline volunteered to coordinate the event.
- Make a note to come even if you don’t bring any food.
- Some things to bring: the banner, sign up sheet.
- Setup for the event shouldn’t conflict with afterschool
- Have checked with Wade, who runs afterschool
- Setup starts at 5pm. Need a few people to help.
- Tables, Trash bin, Utensils
- Make sure there’s a plan to re-enter the building at 7:30pm
|
- Check on the permits for the potluck event.
- Coordinate event (Caroline)
|
Bike Bus- Scheduled for September 13th.
- Julia shared about the event.
- Everything seems ready to rock.
- Want to alert the crossing guard on Hampshire.
|
|
Open Houses- These are school-run events, happening in October.
- Structure is two events, first open house for classroom, second for specialists.
- Children can come.
- A request was made to better clarify for each event throughout the year whether kids can come.
- Discussed using it as a chance to reach out to parents about the PTO.
- If we make a google slide, Genteen can distribute to teachers to show to families.
- Physical sign-up sheets (15 classrooms)
- We will want to provide meals for the teachers for the events.
|
|
Room Parents- Every classroom has parents/family members that volunteer to coordinate with a teacher, families, and the pto.
- Erin coordinates the Room Parents, and is reaching out for sign-ups.
- There was a question about how Room Parents are selected.
- Ideally, teachers reach out to their families about it.
|
|
Wrapping up- Genteen: All School Share dates will be coming.
- Fundraising goals and considerations. Times throughout the year we get particular support:
- Thanksgiving ask for gift cards
- Bake sale at the Turkey Trot
- Farm school fundraising.
- Discussed a possible fundraiser based on yoga.
- Some interest from new parents, want to make sure it’s available.
- The fundraising team will send out an email to get the wheels turning.
- Based on the impact summaries from last year.
|
- Initial fundraising email to families (Rebecca/Kelly)
- Create/share Panda Gear order (Rebecca)
- Email from Fundraising Team (Matt)
