1. When and how have you tracked your migraines?

Thoughts: 100% have tracked their migraines in some form. The surveys was placed on a migraine forum. This could result in having a higher than normal results due to people on forums may be actively managing their health.

2. Which of the following, if any, did tracking your migraines help you with?

0%       I have NOT tracked my migraines before.        

0%       I did not track long enough to see results.        

0%       I realized I had FEWER migraines than I thought.

Thoughts: 100% have found tracking their migraines in some form. The surveys was placed on a migraine forum. This could result in having a higher than normal results due to people on forums may be actively managing their health.

3. What, if anything, stops you from tracking your migraines consistently?

0%       I DO track my migraines consistently.

Thoughts:  Forgetting to track and unable to track while in pain are the top two reasons that stops them from tracking consistently. The rest involved how the app itself was set up. This can be kept in mind when designing the product.

4. Do you try to fill out a migraine diary while you are having a migraine?

0%       Yes, often.

5. Scenario: You are currently having a migraine. Your doctor wants you to track your episodes, but filling out an app while in pain can be difficult. You download a new app to help address this concern. Once opened, it defaults to a voice note where you can do voice recording without having to look at the screen, how would you use it?

47.2%  Record important info only (pain intensity, symptoms). Later, at the time of my choice, the app will remind me to fill out details about the migraine.

28.6%  Record all the details. I would talk to it and the app would fill out the tracking info for me. Example: I say nausea and the app would mark it down as a symptom.        

28.6%  I wouldn't use this option.

Thoughts:  Based on question 4, 66.7% wait to track when they are feeling better. However 75.80% would record a voice note in the midst of a migraine. Voice notes would help with forgetting to track migraine.

Thoughts:  Important to be able to track will in pain. Clear, easy to see, and efficient will greatly affect the user's experience and ability to track consistently.

Thoughts: I plan on doing an A/B test to see what color text/font people like on a black background.

13. Are there any other features you would want a migraine app to have?

Good interactive calendar. Weather info. (Tracking barometric pressure, etc.)

If I were to use an app at all, it would ONLY be if there was a voice option. Question and answers by voice, or record my symptoms. I cannot see when I get a migraine, and light hurts tremendously, so I avoid light of any sort

Thoughts:  People and doctors both know it’s important. Tracking consistently is key to see patterns and changes over time.

Forgetting to track and unable to track while in pain are the top two reasons that prevent people from tracking migraines consistently.

100% said that their doctor suggested they keep a Migraine diary. It is important. Tracking consistently is key to see patterns and changes over time.

66.7% wait to track when they are feeling better. However, 75.80% would record a voice note in the midst of a migraine. Voice notes would help resolve the top two reasons that prevent people from tracking migraines consistently (forgetting to track and unable to track while in pain.)
