Web Page Development

Create a small website that contains a total of 5 web pages

1.   You may use pages that you have already started and worked on together in class.

2.   All pages must include links to all pages using the rollover buttons created in PhotoShop

3.   Home Page

a.   Create an contact me link to your email address using the rollover button

b.   Include a banner for the top of your page. You could create a 1 row/3 column table at the top similar to assignment 2.

c.   Write a short paragraph introducing yourself, but remember not to get too personal.

1.   Include your name (first only)

2.   What is the purpose of this site?

3.   How did you create this site?

d.   Include a link to the other 4 pages using the rollover buttons

e.   Include a “Last Updated” date at the bottom in an address tag.  Place a horizontal line above this section.

4.   Hobbies

a.   Include a link to the other 4 pages using the rollover buttons

b.   Include a short paragraph describing the purpose of this page

c.   Make at least 10 links on the page to outside pages; At least 3 links must be words.  Also, embed 1 youtube video.

d.   Include a table similar to assignment 2 that lists some of your favorites. DO NOT simply copy & paste the table, but make up 3 categories (like color/band/sport) of your own

5.   Schedule

a.   Include a link to the other 4 pages using the rollover buttons

b.   Include a short paragraph describing the purpose of this page

c.   Include a table that has your class schedule – be generic naming only the class you have, not the teacher

6.   Photo Gallery

a.   Include a link to the other 4 pages using the rollover buttons

b.   Include a 10 image photo gallery making sure the thumbnail images are each around 100 pixels tall & wide.

c.   Each image should be a link to the larger image.

d.   Make sure a statement is included about the origin of these images, unless they are digital images you have taken.

7.   Create a page – topic of your choosing

a.   Include a link to the other 4 pages using the rollover buttons

b.   Include a short paragraph describing the purpose of this page

c.   Include pertinent information about the topic

1.   Include 5-10 links

2.   Include 2-3 pictures

d.   Examples, create a page about your

1.   Favorite sport

2.   Favorite sport team

3.   Favorite TV show

4.   Favorite hobby/activity

5.   Your future plans after high school

General Requirements

o   Sketch out a representation of what your site will look like and how they will be linked. Include on that sketch the page names, so I can find them on the server drive.

o   Use the same style sheet for all of your pages

a.   Create a rule for the body text

b.   Create a rule for an unordered list

c.   Create a rule for an ordered list

d.   Create rules for link colors (A:LINK, A:VISITED, A:HOVER, A:ACTIVE)

o   Include a non-tiled, non-repeating, centered image background

** This page will require an additional style in the cascading style sheet

o   Include a bulleted list on one page

o   Include a numbered list on one page

o   Save all pages to your web page folder

o   Save all images to your images folder in your web page folder

o   Name all files ALL LOWERCASE with no spaces (underscores); name everything so there is meaning.

***** DO NOT name a page “page1.html”

o   Make sure all your pages look professional; readable; reliable; and are appropriate.

When you are finished with the assignment, please print the Grading Rubric and turn it into your instructor.
