Smiley Social volleyball levels
Smiley Social defines 5 levels for players based on precision and the number of successful/unsuccessful attempts while playing in an actual game. Click on the following links to see the description of the level:
Notes:
1) The commonly accepted volleyball levels are subject to interpretation and can vary by location, group, and coach, so Smiley Social volleyball levels may not be exactly equivalent.
2) All the people who can play in an event of specific level are not equal in their skills as each level is a range like [B-, B, B+], [BB-, BB, BB+], [A-, A, A+].
3) If someone claims to be on a specific level of Smiley Social but host does not agree, the player can request a chance to play in an actual game while host watching and count the number of successful and unsuccessful attempts on serve, spike, pass and set to determine what will be the level ( we suggest you do a self-assessment while playing a game before making a claim).
C) “Beginners”:
You are new to volleyball and still learning the basic techniques. Beginner players are welcome to join our beginner friendly Social Volleyball and volleyball lessons, where the focus is not on competition but on having fun, making new friends, and improving skills together.
B) "Advanced Beginner":
You can count the number of successful/unsuccessful attempts during the game to rate yourself and to be a B level:
1) During a B level game, you have a 75% serve success rate which means out of 4 serves you are successful at least 3 times (any type of serve will be accepted and it doesn't have to be in exact spot or be hard serve, as long as it is in the opponent field, it is successful).
2) During a B level game, you have 50% serve receive success, which means out of 4 B level serves you can receive 2 successfully in a way the ball is playable by your teammate and not too far from them.
3) During a B level game, you have 50% setting success, which means out of 4 balls you set 2 successfully in a way the ball is playable by your teammate and not too far from them.
4) During a B level game, you have 50% spike success, which means out of 4 balls you spike 2 successfully into the opponent court with a proper arm swing, but correct footwork is not necessary.
5) You are aware of your place in the rotation and you don't crash into teammates chasing a ball into someone else's spot.
6) You always play three passes with your teammates and you almost never pass the first (receive) or second (set) ball directly to the opponent court.
7) You can do continuous volleyball pepper with a partner and do 10+ touches each (use both bump and se but spike is not necessary).
BB) "Intermediate":
You can count the number of successful/unsuccessful attempts during the game to rate yourself and to be a BB level:
1) During a BB level game, you have a 80% overhand serve success rate which means out of 5 serves you are successful at least 4 times.
2) During a BB level game, you have 80% serve receive success, which means out of 5 BB level serves you can receive 4 successfully in a way the ball goes close to the setter.
3) During a BB level game, you have 80% setting success, which means out of 5 balls you set 4 successfully very close to where you intended.
4) During a BB level game, you have 80% spike success, which means out of 5 balls you spike 4 successfully over the net and into the court with correct arm swing and footwork.
5) You can do continuous volleyball pepper with a partner and do 20+ touches each with 3+ medium intensity spikes each.
6) Playing with you or against you is completely safe as you perform skills with full control. As a result, you can’t be a BB level player if

3) During an A level game, you have 80% setting success, which means out of 5 good passes you set 4 balls perfectly to the exact spot requested by your teammate.
