NYU Berlin Facilities (St. Agnes), Resources & Services for Studio Art Students

NYUB’s art studio is located at St. Agnes (http://www.st-agnes.net/), which is easy to reach from both the Student Residence (15 minutes by foot) and the Academic Center (approximately 35 minutes by subway). Art Studio Monitors are present at the studio and will arrange opening hours with you once you are in Berlin (please note that the studio cannot be open 24/7).

At the studio, an art stand, moveable countertop tables, lockers, a projector, “storage drawers”, and basic hand tools (including a sewing machine and drills) are provided.

Please note that your materials (wood, metal, etc.) must be purchased individually. The studio monitors can provide you with a list of nearby art supply shops and hardware stores. NYUB can assist you with the transport from the store to the studio if booked at least two weeks in advance.

St. Agnes also has large photo plotters to print photographic work.

If you would like to use special tools/machinery, an external workshop must be booked. Please inform the studio monitor as early as possible (at least three weeks in advance) if you need to use a specialist workshop. NYUB covers the costs of the workshop but not the materials. The workshops have their own monitors that assist with the machinery. Here you find the different workshops offered:

Any materials you would like to use in the workshop need to be purchased individually. NYUB can assist you with the transport of the materials from the store to the workshop, as well as the later collection of your art piece from the workshop (please book this in advance when booking the workshop).
