Dear Greenburgh Community:

I have often shared how much I appreciate the community’s dedication to our schools and this week offered another example. Thank you to the hundreds of fathers and other caregivers who participated in Dads Take Your Child to School Day yesterday and to all the parents who have been attending Back to School Nights! It is wonderful to have the adults in our students’ lives showing how much they value education.

There are many more opportunities for the community to attend events, and I hope you will mark your calendar for the GCSD Homecoming game and events on Saturday, September 28. In fact, the entire week of September 23rd will be Spirit Week here in the District, and we encourage students to participate in the daily theme as much as possible. Here is the link to the full athletic schedule and remember that we always appreciate having fans come out to support our Falcons.

We will also be announcing our upcoming Parent University series in the coming weeks. If you haven’t already, please take a minute to complete this three-question survey about topics of interest so that we can create a schedule that best meets your needs.

Finally, Woodlands students also had an opportunity to participate in Club Fair today, exploring opportunities ranging from Animal Care to Anime to Environmental and many more.

I hope you enjoy this last weekend of summer as we transition to fall with the equinox on Sunday morning.

Estimada Comunidad de Greenburgh:

A menudo he compartido lo mucho que aprecio la dedicación de la comunidad a nuestras escuelas y esta semana ofrecí otro ejemplo. ¡Gracias a los cientos de padres y otros cuidadores que participaron ayer en el Día de que los Papás lleven a su hijo a la escuela y a todos los padres que han estado asistiendo a las Noches de Regreso a la Escuela! Es maravilloso que los adultos en la vida de nuestros estudiantes demuestren cuánto valoran la educación.

Hay muchas más oportunidades para que la comunidad asista a eventos y espero que marque en su calendario el juego y los eventos de Homecoming de GCSD el Sábado 28 de Septiembre. De hecho, toda la semana del 23 de Septiembre será la Semana del Espíritu aquí en el Distrito, y animamos a los estudiantes a participar en el tema diario tanto como sea posible. Aquí está el enlace al calendario deportivo completo y recuerde que siempre apreciamos que los fanáticos vengan a apoyar a nuestros Halcones.

También anunciaremos nuestra próxima serie de Universidad para Padres en las próximas semanas. Si aún no lo ha hecho, tómese un minuto para completar esta encuesta de tres preguntas sobre temas de interés para que podamos crear un cronograma que mejor se adapte a sus necesidades.

Finalmente, los estudiantes de Woodlands también tuvieron la oportunidad de participar hoy en la Feria del Club, explorando oportunidades que van desde el Cuidado de Animales Hasta el Anime y Ambiental y muchas más.

Espero que disfruten este último fin de semana de verano mientras hacemos la transición al otoño con el equinoccio del Domingo por la mañana.
