My dear László,
My husband[1] & I are coming to London on the 9th. till April 22th – Do you think you could possibly find time to make a sketch of my husband then?
[Page 2]
If this is impossible, could you do him here in May then, if that is more con-venient – The girls’ pictures [likely [8195] and [7851]] are hang-ing here in the sitting-room & they are the joy of my life[2] – I gaze at them everyday & everybody who enters in raves about them –
Hoping to see you in London [ever?] [yours?]
[On the margin of page 2]
Alice.

[1] Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark (1882-1944) [6622]
[2] De László painted Princesses Theodora and Margarita’s portraits [7851][8195]as a silver wedding anniversary present for Prince and Princess Andrew of Greece. Princess Andrew had commissioned them herself and her family decided to pay for them as a gift. Her daughter Cecilie [111496] was painted in 1914 during de László’s visit to Athens to paint members of the Greek Royal Family at the invitation of King Constantine I [11591].
