Chapter 8 and 9 Test Study Guide
The following items I highly suggest you research and study….
- Where does the energy come from that organisms need?
- what are the stages (in order) to cellular respiration? Where do the occur? What goes into each step and what come out of each step?
- Know the equation for photosynthesis and cellular respiration and what the products and reactants are of both
- what is broken down in cellular respiration and what is released?
- What does aerobic and anaerobic mean?
- who undergoes anaerobic respiration?
- How many ATP are produced on Glycolysis?
- Does the Kreb cycle happen without O2?
- One Glucose molecule produces approx 36 ATP molecules in cellular respiration
- What are the two types of fermentation, and what do they produce?
- What does ATP stand for and what are the three parts?
- How is energy release and added to an ATP molecule?
- Define autotrophs and heterotrophs and give examples of each.
- the molecules that absorb light energy is called pigments
- During photosynthesis, on part is called the Calvin Cycle. Light is not required for this step so it is also called the light-independent reaction. During this step sugar is made.
- How does light and temperature affect the rate of photosynthesis? (look for the graphs in your book…..)
