Hollywood Cup Spring 5v5 Shoutout FAQs

FAQ - Frequently asked questions

Q.        A heard something about a Tournament, can my son/daughter play?

  1. Hollywood Wildcats FC is proud to organize our 5th Annual Spring 5v5 Tournament. Boys will play on Saturday, April 13th and girls on Sunday April 14th.

Q.        Who do I contact?

  1. Any Coach, Team Manager, Team Mom or Team Dad can form a team of 8 players and register. Start with your Club and Coach. If they are not participating form your own team and join the fun.

Q.        When is the registration deadline?

  1. Every year we have over 100 teams. In 2018 we had 134 and had to turn some teams away as we did not have a single empty field/time slot to play more games. Register as early as you can. We will take registrations as late as it makes sense. If we have 5 teams in a bracket we’ll take 6th team late, but if we have 4 teams, 5th team is too hard on the schedule, BEST THING IS TO REGISTER AS EARLY AS YOU CAN. Thanks.

Q.        Are referee fees included in the $195?

  1. YES, all referee fees are included in your registration fees!

Q.        What are the age groups?

Q.        Can my child play up a year?

  1. Yes, if you feel comfortable they can play up 1 year, but they cannot play down. However NO U6 PLAYERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO PLAY ON A U8 TEAM. No players born on or after December 31st, 2012.

Q.        How many players are we allowed to roster?

  1. Maximum roster size is 8 players. Minimum roster size is 5 (6 or 7 recommended). You can always enter 2 teams if you have too many players. We recommend bringing more than 5 per team as opposite team is not obligated to play down to your numbers if you are short players.

Q.        I can only come up with 5 players, what now?

  1. You are not limited to only your team players, maybe your son/daughter has school friends or cousins of same age, everyone is welcome. If not contact us, we might have kids looking for a team to play on.

Q.     Are all 3 guaranteed games played on the same day, and if so, what is the total number of games the winning team will play?

  1. YES, all games are on the same day. Boys play only on Saturday, Girls play only on Sunday.Three games per team are guaranteed, but some teams might play as many as 5 if that division requires us to play semi-finals and finals due to number of teams in the division

Q.        When will the schedule be posted?

  1. We will do our best to post the schedule on Wednesday and Thursday before the weekend of tournament. You can help us out by registering and making your payment early.

Q.        My friends and I want to form a High School age team for the Tournament, do we need a Coach?

  1. We need a responsible adult to be your Coach/Manager. He/she does not need to have any soccer experience, but has to be present on the field for all the games, and if your Team wins “the coach” even gets a trophy!

Q.        I have a question, who do I ask?

  1. Please refer to the tournament rules packet located at http://www.hollywood5v5.com. If that does not answer your question please send an email to the Tournament Director  tournament@hollywood5v5.com.
