Mountain Man Rendezvous

FREE-$4

The Mountain Man Rendezvous is held each Labor Day in Fort Bridger Wyoming. It's about a two hour drive.

There are tons of activities. They have a Pony Express station, native American groups doing dances and teaching, historical activities, period dress, archery, blacksmiths, army reenactments, and a trading post area.

It's$4.00 for those 12 and up. 11 and under are free. If you dress in period clothing you get in free.

http://www.fortbridgerrendezvous.net/

They do have camping available as well.

Petersen Family Farm

Peterson Family Farm in Riverton, very near the Oquirrh Mtn Temple doesn't have the variety of activities, but they do have a huge variety of pumpkins and some fun photo ops and a big slide. They are super nice and I'm sure would be more than happy to do a custom built field trip for us all about farming. They have summer camps for kids and so they have all sorts of lesson plans available and a pretty nice variety of farm animals. https://petersenfamilyfarm.com/

Farnsworth Farms Cider Mill

Farnsworth Farms Cider Mill in Draper used to give us tours. They've had to sell off most of the farm but they do still have a few apple trees you can pick apples from and the fresh cider they sell is fabulous (especially the non-pasturized). The last time we did a field trip they had a short hay ride around what is left of the farm, a lesson about apples and  harvesting, and then let us see the cider mill and explained how it works. I cannot recall the price but it was in the few dollars range.  https://www.facebook.com/Farnsworth-Farms-Cider-Mill-152625836591/
