Library Day Recap - September 21, 2016

Dear parents and guardians,

Thank you to all the parents who attended Library Day and bought raffle tickets for your children. Special thanks to PTA President Jholanda for organizing the snacks for the parents. The day was a great success due to all the parents and teachers who supported the event!

We raised 721,000 won from the raffle! This money will be used for future events such as the second Library Day coming up on February 9, 2017. The students had fun with the raffle and we gave away a total of 36 prizes including two grand prizes, 50,000 won gift certificates to What the Book English bookstore in Seoul.

All the students had story time and reading time in the library and did a craft activity related to the story that was read to them. Grade 4 did a special reading and performance of the book Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. Afterwards, while students went to labs, parents had time to enjoy snacks and participate in a game just for the parents.

During Library Day, Mr. Baker gave a reading of The Paper Bag Princess by Robert Munsch, a variation on the traditional princess story. He promised that we’d have some links to book suggestions with strong girl characters, which have now been added to the FP Library’s website:

Also, we have a survey for parents to provide feedback about Library Day. If you have a moment, please let us know your thoughts - we appreciate your sincere feedback.
