Pollution DORIAN, JASON, JOHN’S PROJECT Dorian: Why is there less amount of pollution in rural communities and in urban communities there is a lot of pollution? Jason: Why do people pollute cities? John: How can we stop polluting the environment?
Pollution, pollution, pollution. We have so many questions about pollution in both urban and rural communities. Here the answers to our questions.
Why do people pollute cities (urban)? One answer is that people do it on purpose. It could happen indirectly from humans. An example of humans doing it indirectly is, by people driving cars. WHAT??? Yes because exhaust from cars can cause air pollution.
People also pollute cities even they don’t know what they are doing. People also pollute cities because they think nothing would happen to the environment. People throw garbage on the ground. 75% of the world should know this because in many countries there are signs that not to throw garbage on the ground such as don’t be a liter bug and much, much more.
Why is there less amount pollution in rural communities and in urban communities there is a lot of pollution?
One reason is that....There are more pollutants or industrial areas in urban communities than in rural communities such as factories, chemicals, and much, much more. But in rural communities there are fewer pollutants because there fewer roads so there are fewer cars. Also there are fewer factories so there fewer chemicals.
Another reason is.... factories. Factories are one of the common pollutants and there are a lot of them in urban areas. Chemicals are also one of the common pollutants too. That doesn’t mean there are no chemicals in rural communities, a type chemical that effect underground water is fertilizers which are chemicals.
There is still pollution in rural areas. Here some reasons to prove it...
Water pollution occur rural areas because there is more rivers, lakes, and in rural areas. Water pollution can affect water, underground water, plants, animals and people. Water is polluted by many resources; an example is dangerous garbage in rivers. Underground water is polluted by many resources, an example is fertilizers. Plants can die because the polluted water can affect them. Animals and people drink water so the chemicals can go in them!!!
What can we do to stop polluting the environment? These are some of the preventions.
Encourage your family to use the bus, train or bike when travelling. If we all do this, there will be fewer cars on roads and less fumes. People living in urban communities should take this advice because many cars are being used in urban communities.
Buy more environmentally safe cleaning products for use at home and other public places. They are less dangerous to the environment. This is what factories are against because their hazardous chemicals that could destroy the environment. All people in both urban and rural communities should listen to this because the more the hazardous chemicals are used the more the pollution is caused. But in many urban communities, they have many factories so this means more hazardous chemicals are being used.
If you live close to a water body, try to plant lots of trees and flowers around your home, so that when it rains, chemicals from your home do not easily drain into the water. This most likely goes to rural communities because there are lots bodies of waters.
If you use chemicals and fertilizers for your gardens and farms, be careful not to overuse fertilizers. This will reduce runoffs of the material into nearby water sources. Start looking at options of composting and using organic manure instead. This also goes with rural areas because they have barns and gardens.
Pollution is being caused in both urban and rural communities so we must stop this. We can’t just watch communities being destroyed by pollution!!! Air pollution is damaging our lungs. Water pollution can destroy fresh water. Land pollution can destroy healthy fields.
