Endangered Species Project~ Menu of Options
- All students must create a slideshow first. Students will create their slideshows using Google Presentation. *See Slideshow Expectations List*
- Menu of Options: (You must choose at least 3 from the list below. If time allows, you can choose more than 3.)
*Students must complete a planning sheet for each menu item selected. The planning sheet is on the endangered species website.*
- Create a Biome/ Habitat Box (art project- no technology)
- Draw a realistic picture of your animal with its habitat background
- Write a Biome Poem
- Write an Acrostic Poem
- Write and Sing a Biome Song/ Rap (Garageband)
- Write and Sing a song about your animal, include the facts you researched
- Design a Poster including facts or How to Save
- Design a Tri-Fold poster with facts and pictures
- Design an interactive adventure in Minecraft at home (with parent permission). Include your animal’s habitat with all the facts from your slideshow. Create a tour with a viewing area. You can take a screen recording on it and share it with the class YouTube channel.
- Build and Design a fact wall about your endangered animal in Minecraft- includes signs with facts (with parent permission). You can take a screen recording on it and share it with the class YouTube channel.
- Design Biome/ Habitat in Kid Pix
- Create a mask of your animal using art materials
- Comic strip
- Exercise like your animal- Record and share
- Design a 3-D Model of Animal (lego’s, clay, paper mache, cardboard, origami, etc..)
- Make habitat out of lego’s
- Write and Record a Service Learning Announcement- How we can save our animal?
- Design a brochure with tips on what communities can do to help prevent animals from becoming extinct
- Program an educational game using Scratch or another programming tool
- Create/ Design a game- The goal= winner of the game save the animals
- Write a newspaper article educating community members on things they can do to help your animal
- Create a collage with images of your animal and their biomes, including facts on diet, appearance, behavior, interesting facts, etc...
- Design Paper Plate Art Project (see example)
- Draw a map, (or print one, then draw) label where your animal lives, and what biome your animal lives in
- Create a Blog or Google Site and include all your research, pictures, books, websites, etc...
- Program a game on how to save your animal (tools you can use= Scratch, Tynker, Google Script, etc...)
- Write a letter to the government, the people in charge of the Endangered Species Act explaining how important you think protecting these animals are and why
- Make puppets and design a puppet show explaining why the species is endangered
- Write and act-out a play about why your animal is endangered or ways you could save it)
- Write a non-fiction book about your animal
- Write a fiction story about your animal
- Create a graph/ timeline showing the decline over the years, ending in the year your animal became endangered or extinct
- Create your own interactive adventure about your animal- You can choose to be a researcher or the animal itself (If you are the animal, you need to try and survive before they would get endangered) (If you are the researcher, you have to try and save them and answer questions about them).
