Question 1 - Usability of a camera review site
You are studying users interacting with a site that has reviews of digital cameras.
a) Describe two important features that would be found on such a site and how best to design them, e.g., technical specs, price, user reviews, tests of the cameras.
b) Describe the ways in which you could learn about the usability of the two features you have chosen.
Question 2 - Design of an iPhone app for a bicycle store chain
You work for a company that owns a chain of bicycle stores. The company is contracting to have an iPhone app built that would allow customers to survey the goods and services the stores have to offer. How might you and your colleagues on the store’s design team go about developing a good design that the contractor would then implement? Focus your answer on
a) a service reservation system
b) a catalog of bike accessories.
Question 3 - Field work on how the Charlie Card works for users
The MBTA has contracted with your consulting firm to do a field study of the use of Charlie Card machines, with an eye to the next generation. Describe how you would do field work at locations such as the Park Street Station, T-stops where there are no machines, and by observing and interviewing riders on the Green line and subways.
