Computing Y4 S3 TA   I can use Lego WeDo to create and control a simulated physical system (To play football!)

To be successful you will need to follow instructions and build a simulated kicking and scoring system. You will also need to understand how to  create a sequence to control the model, display messages, scores and add sounds. You will use techniques and language already discussed in previous sessions including: Repeats, variables, inputs, outputs, waits and rules (algorithms).

Steps to Success

Self-Assessment

I understand how a sequence works

What does this football kicking simulator control sequence do? (Tick the right one)

Clears display, background 2.

Motor starts and a motion sensor is used to add 1 to the display. Motor stops.

Clears display, background 2.

Motor starts and a tilt sensor is used to subtract 1 to the display. Motor stops.

I understand the use of  loops

What does this do?  What will be displayed when this run?  (Tick the right one)

Clears the display and adds 1 for a loop of 3 displaying 3 at the end ◻

Clears the display and adds 1 for a loop of 10 displaying 10 at the end ◻

I can debug problems in a sequence.

I want to display 6 x 5 = 30  What do I need to change? (Tick the right one)

Change the +3 to +6  ◻

Change the number of loops to 6    ◻
