Attendance

Students are expected to attend all scheduled lessons and classes on time. Any time missed due to lateness will not be made up.  If a teacher is late, missed time will be made up.

Cancellations and Make-up Lessons

Missed lessons without any advance notification will not be rescheduled. Missed lessons have no cash value or credit value. In order to reschedule a lesson, you must notify of your absence at least 24 hours in advance. You are eligible for a maximum of two makeups per semester. Any lesson missed after the second absence will not be rescheduled. Make-up lesson schedule is arranged between the teacher and the parents. Please note that make-up lessons might not occur at the most convenient time as you might have normally wished for.  If your teacher needs to miss a lesson, your teacher will arrange a make-up lesson or The Moosic School will arrange for a substitute teacher. A make-up lesson will not be made up if missed by student.  There is no make up for recital.

Exception: You can reschedule lessons that are canceled due to inclement weather or power outage if you haven’t used up eligible two makeups during the semester.

Students who miss more than 6 lessons in any semester will not be able to reserve a lesson time for the following year in our priority period for returning students.  Such students may be required to wait until the start of regular registration for new students in July.

Inclement weather and emergency closure:

Lessons will be canceled in case of emergency such as inclement weather, flooding, power outage, etc.  Cancellation of lessons will be announced through email and/or phone. If you used up two eligible makeups during the semester, lessons that are canceled due to inclement weather, power outage, etc will not be made up and a refund will not be given.

Students’ Expectations:

Students are expected to practice at home every day for the same length as lesson time (ideally), but at least 15-20min a day.

Students are expected to bring all the materials including assignment book and books at each lesson.
