Nornia ModPack Installation
There are various ways to install the modpack, We will potentially be launching a installer, but until then installation needs to be done manually.
- Suggested Method - Installing directly to the .minecraft folder, rather simple.
- Curse(Twitch) Client - Better if you like to play more than one mod pack, but a little more complex to setup.
- Curse Client For Muggles - This is for those of you who are friends of VR, and don't care about VR stuff, lame...
Note: If you are on the website, right click the links and open in a new tab
You might want to disable mipmapping, with the updated pack.
Suggested Method - Install Directly to the .minecraft folder
Pretty easy to do, has the side effect and locking you down to this modpack, unless you use another launcher for modpacks (ex: curse).
- Download the modpack - Nornia_Modpack
- Download Vivecraft - Note: if you want to be a muggle (A non VR Player, who doesn't care about seeing VR Movements) you can skip this step. But you will have to download forge on your own, and install it to your minecraft directory.
- Non-VR is for non VR use, duh. If you are a VR user I'd recommend running the installer twice, one VR and one Non-VR Companion profile. There will be use cases where somethings are just hard to do in VR.
- Install Vivecraft
- Make sure Forge is selected
- Make sure to create a minecraft profile
- Make sure to allocate at least 4gb of ram, or you will have problems.
- The default path to minecraft should be correct, unless you personally changed it.

- Once installed, proceed into the .minecraft directory. This can be done by typing %appdata% into your address bar of file explorer.

- Inside of your .minecraft directory, you will want to unzip the build of the modpack that you chose, this will place all the contents you need to join the server inside the mods and config folders.
- Note: If you have a previous build of the modpack or already have a mods/config folder, you will need to delete your mod and config folder first, then unzip.
- You might need to use a tool, such as 7-zip to upzip the modpacks.
- Launch Vivecraft or the Non VR Companion
- Connect to: mod.nornia.net
Curse(Twitch) Client Method for VR users or VR Companion Users
This is for those who want to have more than one mod pack. The above install method, only allows you to have one set of mods. This gets a little more complicated to set up, as it involves a longer setup.
- Download the Curse modpack - Nornia_Modpack_Curse.
- Open Twitch, go to the minecraft tab, and hit the Create Custom Profile button.
- You will want to “Import” a previously exported profile.

- You will then need to locate the Curse Package that you downloaded previously and select it.
- It will then start installing the mod pack
- Download Vivecraft - This step can be skipped if you are a muggle (A non VR Player, who doesn't care about seeing VR Movements) .
- Non-VR is for non VR use, duh. If you are a VR user I'd recommend running the installer twice, one VR and one Non-VR Companion profile. There will be use cases where somethings are just hard to do in VR.
- Now you will Install Vivecraft - This step can be skipped if you are a muggle (A non VR Player, who doesn't care about seeing VR Movements) .
- Make sure Forge is selected
- (optional)Make sure to create a minecraft profile
- (optional)Make sure to allocate at least 4gb of ram, or you will have problems.

- Now it gets tricky, as for the next step we go to the vanilla launcher and create a new profile.

- Below is if you create a new profile, you can also edit an existing one to match(like the one we made when we installed).
- Set your game version to the version of Vivecraft you want to use.
- It will vary based on if you want VR, or non VR, or depending on what release of Vivecraft you are using, i suggest you use the latest release of vivecraft.
- You must use a 1.10.2 forge version thoe.
- Set your game directory, to your Curse minecraft instance(Example Below):
- C:/Users\Jake\Documents\Curse\Minecraft\Instances\Nornia_Modpack_r1.0_Curse
- VERY IMPORTANT: Set your JVM arguments to:
- -Xmx4G -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode -XX:-UseAdaptiveSizePolicy -Xmn256M -Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true
- NOTE: You must use the vanilla launcher, and launch using the profile you just created.
- Connect to: mod.nornia.net.
Curse Client Method for Muggles
This is by far, the most simple method, and It allows for multiple modpacks. This is only for NON VR USERS.
- Download the Curse modpack:
- Nornia_Modpack_Curse
- Open Twitch, go to the minecraft tab, and hit the Create Custom Profile button.
- You will want to “Import” a previously exported profile.

- You will then need to locate the Curse Package that you downloaded previously and select it.
- It will then start installing the mod pack
- Once the modpack is complete, you are done. You can now hit the Play button on the Modpack Profile in the Curse app, and have fun (It will open a vanilla launcher where you launch from)
- Connect to: mod.nornia.net.
