Installation Instructions

WARNING

Only change the Spot Logger battery INDOORS with clean hands in a clean and dry environment.  This can be done inside a building, vehicle, helicopter, or other place.  This prevents things like dirt, rain, snow, or other corrosive materials from entering the logger.

  1. Unscrew partially threaded screw and lock nut from the side of the spot logger

  1. Untwist lid and open logger slowly (sometimes the wire harness below the battery tray can get caught on the board)

  1. Once opened, insert the battery in the correct orientation. The plus and negative signs are marked on the tray.

WARNING

Static Discharge: Before touching the logger, ground yourself by touching a nearby metal surface. This prevents static electric discharges, safeguarding the logger's delicate components.

Battery Installation: Ensure the battery is installed with the correct orientation. Incorrect installation may damage the logger.

Damage Warning: If the logger becomes damaged and is unresponsive, it must be replaced to maintain proper functionality and safety.

  1. After installing the battery, the LEDs will flash immediately
  2. Wait ~1 minute for the logger to initialize, and then swipe the magnet on the magnet icon to see the LEDs  flash
  1. If you see lights blinking, it means that the logger is working.  If lights do not blink, the battery is not installed correctly or the logger has an issue.
