Art Student Success Rubric:
A Highly Successful Artist (A):
- Arrives on time and gets set up for the work of the day.
- Spends extra time in the studio during study halls, free periods as well as before and after school.
- Always finds a unique and personal answer to each assignment.
- Does work outside of class assignments.
- Always cleans up and puts away materials and artwork.
- Always participates in class discussions and critiques in a positive manner.
- Makes regular interesting and insightful posts to his blog.
- Is supportive and helpful with classmates.
A Good Art Student (B):
- Arrives on time to class ready and sets up for the work of the day.
- Makes up time missed when absent.
- Is focused on his work throughout the class, avoiding distracting chit-chat and behaviors.
- Makes an effort to address the specific goals of each assignment.
- Is good about cleaning up and putting away his work and materials.
- Has projects and homework completed on time.
- Occasionally participates in class discussions and critiques.
- Makes regular but somewhat cursory and descriptive blog posts.
A Poor Student (C):
- Arrives late and needs prodding to get to work.
- Often needs reminders to stay on task.
- Does not make up missed time.
- Engages in distracting chit-chat and behaviors.
- Often leaves clean-up for others.
- Assignments are often late or underdeveloped.
- Does not participate in class discussions or critiques.
- Infrequently posts to blog.
A Failing Student (F)
- Cuts class.
- Lies to teacher.
- Is often disruptive to class.
- Is abusive towards classmates.
- Makes no serious effort with his work.
- Damages tools, furniture or equipment.
- Does not complete blog post assignments.
