Computer Use Agreement

Required for all computer users.

• I understand that the physical presentation of a valid library patron card is required for all computer activity.
• I understand that out-of-area visitors may be extended a one-time computer use pass with presentation of a valid photo ID  and completion of this Computer Use Agreement.  Recurring visitors must register for on-going library privileges.
• I understand that all fines must be paid and all overdues must be returned before computer use is allowed.
• I will pay for every page sent to the printer from my workstation  
• I understand that a computer screen is not equivalent to a printed page and that I can ask for assistance with the printing in order to avoid unnecessary charges.  
• I will release the computer after my initial thirty (30) minutes session is complete if requested by library staff to do so.
• I will follow all library rules and guidelines for computer use.

FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS OF A CHILD UNDER 18:

I understand that the Internet (www) is an extremely diverse information resource and that I may find some of the information available on the Internet to be objectionable.  In order to comply with the Child Internet Protection Act (CIPA), the Library has activated filters that prevent certain sites from being viewed.  However, I fully understand that it is my responsibility to instruct my child as to what information extracted from the Internet is appropriate.  I also fully understand that the Library does not have the right or legal responsibility to act in loco parentis and therefore, I will not hold the Library responsible if my child is exposed to inappropriate information from the Internet.

As the parent and/or legal guardian of the child listed above, I hereby give my legal consent to allow my child to have access to the Copiah Jefferson Regional Library’s Internet computers.

I agree to abide by these rules and to follow the directions of the library staff.
