 A LETTER OF INTRODUCTION

Dear Parents,

Thank you so much for your interest in the AWANA children’s ministry at Southridge.

It is our privilege to partner with you, as we teach God’s love through the AWANA ministry, and see children develop and grow in FAITH.

AWANA is a Bible-based, Christ centered children’s program committed to ministering to children in a weekly club with an exciting and fun atmosphere.

The AWANA MINISTRY has 2 primary goals: (1) That the children of Jefferson City will come to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ; (2) That parents be encouraged and strengthened as the spiritual nurturers of their children.  We are committed to help you teach your children the Bible, not just about the Bible.

This year we’re providing something new for parents.  Special short-term Bible study, and special interest studies will be available for parents during the AWANA hours, for your convenience.  More information will be forthcoming.

This AWANA packet is full of useful information regarding Southridge’s AWANA clubs.  Please review it and save it for future reference.  If you have questions, please contact the church office at 573.635.6398 or Dave Ellis, AWANA Commander at 573.690.3148.

Our club runs from September until April; each Wednesday starting at 6:30 p.m. and pickup time is 8:15.

To ensure the safety of your child it will be necessary for you to bring him/her to the gym each Wednesday for the check-in process.  Pick up will also take place in the gym.  We will only release your child to you or another adult (which you have designated during the check-in process).  If your child attends a Missions Education group prior to AWANA, a Missions Education leader will be available to check your child into AWANA should that be your desire.

Thank you again for your partnership in the AWANA ministry of Southridge Baptist Church.  Please know that we are here for you and your children and if there’s anything we can do, please ask or call.

In Christ,

Ron Zamkus, Senior Pastor
