SUNYport allows SUNY students to set up electronic portfolios which

contain resumes and documentation of work produced during professional careers.

You can enter your resume and samples of your work. They will be kept

online and publicly available as long as you like.

Register

You need to register yourself with your SUNY email address

to get full access to SUNYport. Go to the sunyport  

homepage at ubir.buffalo.edu/sunyport and click: Students: click here to register

To register, you need to enter your SUNY email address,

last name, full name and phone

number. You are all set!! A confirmation is sent to your

email address. Click on the link in the email and follow instructions

to complete the registration.

Upload a paper

To upload a document or other work  in DSpace,

go to http://ubir.buffalo.edu/sunyport 

and  Login

then select the SUNY Students Work Repository (public) collection.

Click on Submit a new item to this collection to begin entering your document.

There are a series of screen panels, but you do not have to enter most of the data.

On the first panel, skip it by clicking the NEXT button.

In the next panel, fill in your name in the author boxes

and the Title of your work in the Title box

and select the ‘type’ of item from the drop-down box, usually ‘other’

and select the language in the dropdown box, ‘usually “English, United States’

press the NEXT button.

then next panel asks for subjects, abstracts, sponsors, and description.

Since these are optional, click the NEXT button.

You should now be on the ‘upload’ panel,

click the “choose file” button.

You should see a file selection box showing files on your computer.

Select one and click to select.

When you get back to the upload panel, the filename will appear next to

the “choose file” button.

Click the NEXT button.

This takes you to the REVIEW panel where you can make changes.

Click the NEXT button.

This takes you to the ‘license’ panel.

The license is an agreement that this is your work,

you have the right to post it and

you know it will be made public. Click the I Grant the License checkbox.

Now click the “Complete submission” button.

You will get a message the the submission is complete.

However, you work will not appear publicly

until the system administrator reviews it.

This may take a few minutes or a few days.

Click the “Submit another item” button to add more work.

You will get email notifications when your items are available.

Upload a Resume

Search

To find your work in SUNYport,

go to the Student Work Collection or

go to the Student Resume Collection and search for your name.

You can also search for keywords in your resume and work

because all text is indexed.

Alternatively, you can browse the collections by selecting the

title browse option.

 

Both the resume and work collections can be searched by searching the

SUNYport community.
