CAHS PL GEAR-UP DAY 2024-25

This checklist is meant to help you navigate the beginning of the 24/25 academic year by providing you with all of the important information and resources you need in one easy location! If you would like to access the virtual version of this document with live links, please go to Classical Academy High School - Resource Page (or scan the QR code) for this and additional resources.
It is recommended to go through this entire checklist, in order, to ensure you do not miss anything. The items are organized by location based on where you will be directed on campus to *complete various tasks. There are additional resources not specific to Gear Up Day at the end of the document. If you have any questions about any of the items on the checklist, please ask one of our team members.
Once you have completed your checklist, students are encouraged to follow their printed schedule and visit all their teachers and support providers. This is a great opportunity for students and parents/guardians to meet their current teachers!
Please take note that the first day of live, synchronous and in-person instruction will now be on Tuesday, August 27th; as such, please review the Special Bell Schedules for the first two weeks of school.
*All Independent Study students must check-in with Lorie Briggs to receive their textbooks, sign their IS agreements and receive important information related to the new school year.

FRONT LOBBY:
- Confirm you have signed your MASTER AGREEMENT prior to taking any next steps at Gear Up Day. If you have not signed your master agreement, please go directly to the Counseling Office to meet with Lynn Reardon. Master Agreements must be signed prior to students receiving their schedules.
- Pick up your PRINTED SCHEDULE from your counselor to ensure all of your courses are correct.
- Pick up or view a CAMPUS MAP,if needed, to ensure you know where to go and how to find your teacher’s classrooms and other service providers on campus. Please note that some teachers and support providers have changed rooms and there are new room numbers for many rooms across the campus.
- Additionally, due to construction, several teachers are not in their permanent classrooms and will be hosted during Gear Up Day by other teachers. Please refer to the list below for teachers who are in different classrooms during Gear Up Day.

NEW COUNSELING CENTER (DOWNSTAIRS):

- All schedule change requests must be made using the official form. Please allow up to one week for all schedule changes to be made. Until a student's official schedule is updated in School Pathways, students are expected to walk out their current schedule.

- JUNIORS ONLY: Please click on the following link or scan the QR Code to complete the
CAL GRANT OPT-OUT FORM. If you have any questions, please contact your counselor.
- Pick up the CAHS COMMUNITY SERVICE FORM. If you have any questions regarding community service requirements and expectations, please email broberson@classicalacademy.com
and she can assist you.
- If you are planning to be absent for more than one week of workshop classes please complete the CAHS PL EXTENDED LEAVE OF ABSENCE FORM. You can print off the form HERE, scan the QR code and/or pick up a copy of the form at the front desk. Please bring all completed forms to the attendance clerk in the front office.
BAND ROOM (DOWNSTAIRS):
- Make all PURCHASES (see below for options) or scan QR codes to purchase directly from the link. We are able to take Cash, Check or Card.
EVENTS PURCHASES - PLC ACTIVITIES STICKER - $30 (Discounts on all dances & events, free entrance into home athletic events, special perks. The sticker will go on your digital profile in 5star)

| CLUB INFO - CLUBS at PLC are completely student run and student led. All students need to start a club is 5 members and 1 staff advisor. Clubs need to be approved before they can start meeting. Click here or scan below for club application. Clubs from previous years still need to fill out the application form.

- CLUB RUSH is on Sept 19th during lunch, in the auditorium. This is when all of the clubs advertise and recruit. This is a great time to check out all of the options for clubs and get involved!
| PLC EVENTBOOK
- Pre-purchase PLC Eventbooks for $55 at the Purchases station.
- PLC Eventbook Order link will become available soon
- Senior Ads will be made available at the same link as the Eventbook Order Link. Parents can purchase and design their page at link when it becomes available.

UPSTAIRS HALLWAY
- If you are an Independent Study or Virtual student, you will pick up your TEXTBOOKS in the upstairs hallway. Note: Not all students will have textbooks with their courses. Please check with Joanne Frandsen if you have outstanding fines or books that have not been turned in from previous years as you cannot check out new books until all accounts are settled.
*All other students will pick up their textbooks in the TEACHER’S ROOM for that specific course.
SDL (UPSTAIRS)
- Checkout your STUDENT CHROMEBOOK and make sure you are able to login to your accounts with your TCAdocs login. *New students–see below under TECH TABLE for access information.

- All students must LOGIN TO GRADIENT CANVAS by CLICKING HERE or scanning the QR code. Gradient is the new Learning Management System students will be using this year to access the majority of their course curriculum, view their grades, and receive important course information and updates.

*All students have an introductory class in Gradient called “PASSPORT” which will help them navigate the Gradient Canvas platform. All students are expected to complete this course prior to the first day of live instruction on Tuesday, August 27th.
- Check in with the TECH TABLE if you are having any issues with school logins (Schoology, Canvas, 5 Star, TCA Docs, School Pathways) and/or to pick up a form to request a Wifi Hot Spot.
Students can access the following link (or scan the QR code) to get information on all logins: CAHS Student Account Information 2024-25- If you are a new student having issues with logging in to your TCA docs, please look for an email sent from TCA with your randomized password and instructions on how to set up your new TCA docs account. If you do not yet have a TCA docs account or continue to have issues with logging in, please email lreardon@classicalacademy.com to set up your new account.
- If a student has their own personal computer they may be unable to login to their Tcadocs account if signed in to another account. Please make sure you are completely signed out of your own personal (or parent’s) Gmail accounts and then try signing into your TCAdocs account.
- Pickup the temporary student ID paper from the photo table & take your STUDENT PHOTO

- Download 5 STAR STUDENT APP
- Find CAHS PL
- Use 5 Digit ID & Last Name (located on your temporary ID card paper) OR TCA Docs Google Login
- Student picture will populate within 24-48 hours
- Student photos will be uploaded to 5 Star within 24-48 hours
- STUDENT IDS will continue to be hosted on the 5 Star Student App!
- Students will be using this app to check into events, signing up for activities, showing their schedule to security for early release and many other functions!
- If students do not have a smartphone, they can still use all the functions of 5star. Teachers can look up their student ID in the 5 Star Program via their name or student ID number. Students can buy tickets to events and vote for court polls through a desktop computer.
- If you are a student that does not have a smart phone, please come to the front desk to discuss alternative Student ID options.
CAMPUS TOURS & EVENTS
- Students are encouraged to walk out their schedules and VISIT THEIR TEACHERS and any other support providers listed on their schedule. Parents/guardians are encouraged to introduce themselves to any teachers/providers they may not have previously met and to ask any questions they may have regarding that specific course. Leadership Students are available to give tours if you would like, you can find them in the Purchases (band) room.
- Get your tickets for the BACK-TO-SCHOOL BEACH BASH 🏖️🌸🏄🌟
Join us for our annual Back-to-School Beach Bash! We love to kick off the school year with this fun event, so come hang out with old friends and meet new ones! Students can wear beach clothing (school dress code still applies), food and desserts included in the ticket price. Dancing with DJ Morningstar, games, activities and more!

**Activities Card discount will automatically be applied once you purchase the Activities Sticker, either online in the 5star Store, or at Gear Up. Parents, we would love donations and volunteers for this event - click here to sign up! Additionally, all families are encouraged to volunteer, at minimum, 25 hours each school year. - Mark your calendars for CLUB RUSH

STUDIO GEAR UP DAY
- All students taking courses at the CAHS Studio Campus are invited and encouraged to attend the CAHS STUDIO GEAR UP DAY on Thursday, August 22, 2024 between 8am and 4pm. Students will receive their books and be able to meet their Studio teachers on this day.

24/25 Bell Schedules (Studio & PL)  | These are the current bell schedules for both the PL and Studio campus. Please note that if your student is taking a course on the other campus at any point in the day, they should head directly to that campus at the end of their previous class. If they arrive early, they will be directed to the front office and/or Study Hall area to wait until their next class begins. |

| This is the one page calendar for the 2024-2025 academic school year that contains the most important dates for all CAHS PL students. Please note special dates (particularly around the end of each quarter/semester) as there are many expectations of students at that time and we need families to partner with us to ensure students are successful this year! |
24/25 Virtual Class Schedule | This year CAHS PL campus is proud to offer Virtual Courses with live synchronous instruction from each course teacher! Students who are enrolled in virtual courses should note the specific days their virtual course is being taught; not all virtual courses have synchronous offerings so please consult the schedule.
Please also note that Friday Office Hours will be held this year from 9am-11am. Additional Office Hours are available by appointment only. |
