‘Pageant of Empire. Brilliant Gathering at Lord Leverhulme’s House’, Daily Graphic, 1 May 1924

Wonderful scenes were witnessed last night at Lord Leverhulme’s House, Hampstead, which he lent for the League of Health Ball.

Lord Leverhulme received a large and distinguished company of guests.

In addition to the dance, various features of interest were introduced, chief of which was a pageant of Empire, in which prizes were awarded for the best costumes representing features of the British Empire.

The chief prize was a portrait of the winner, to be painted by Mr. de Laszlo [13294].

A series of entertainments was arranged, and during supper in the famous music-room the guests were entertained to a cabaret show, in which Lady Eleanor Smith and Baroness Fornivall took part.
