On Saturday evening, January 15th at 7pm there will be an online Bedford Day presentation for theChurch of Perpetual Life by Ben Best. He has given these presentations for several years, sometimes concentrating on details about James Bedford, sometimes concentrating on issues related to cryonics, but for the last two years concentrating on themolecular biology of SARS-Cov-19. This year's presentation will consist of three parts:
(1) Remembrance of James Bedford
(2) Update on the Covid-19 pandemic with an emphasis on technology
(3) Update on cryonics events and technology
The presentation will be in-person in New York City
and online for the Church of Perpetual Life.

There will be a talk about financial aspect of cryonics services - a topic that often discussed in our meetings.
This year we have as a special guests Ms. Aviva North, from Sunlife Financial, and Adam Freedman, lawyer, of Keslassy Freedman LLP. Below is the abstract of their talk:
Many people think that once they pass away their liabilities or other financial debts or responsibilities have died with them. This is far from the case.
Your affairs must be organised so that the money required for cryonics services will in fact be there, that it will be enough, and that no one - including the Canada Revenue Agency - can stake a claim. Your Will and Power of Attorney documents, beneficiary designations, and such, must be incontestable, or you face the risk that your wishes will not be followed through, and you will not be there to do anything about it.
This seminar will address the ways to take control of your affairs and guarantee your future position through cryonics services.

Cryonics Training Session and Annual 2014 Summer Party
As many of you know, we now have an Alcor kit in the Greater Toronto area. This kit includes medications, medical equipment and vitrification solution. We are working with the leadership at The Cryonics Institute to be outfitted in a similar fashion. Our local branch of the CSC also has a Michigan thumper, air cylinder to power it, and a modular ice bath. It was decided, for logistical and security reasons to store everything together, in a locked office on my property. I live near Orangeville, about 1 hour northwest of Toronto. Members of the CSC executive will also have keys and 24/7 access to everything should I be unavailable.
It is my pleasure to announce that Aaron Drake, Dr Max More and Ben Best will be paying us a visit on the weekend of August 15- 17, 2014. Aaron will be offering us readiness training on their kit, which would benefit all of us considering the distance to CI and Alcor. The training is tentatively set for Saturday, August 16th at my place. Times aren't decided yet, but it will likely run all day. I ask that this only be open to members. Space is limited so please RSVP as soon as possible to csc4@cryocdn.org.
