My dear old chum,

Thank you for your long letter – please send another one as soon as you can! I was delighted to hear the good news and hope the royal portraits will be masterpieces – I have no doubt that they will be.^[1]

My father-in-law^[2] is away and won’t be back for a few days, but when he returns I will ask him for the letter of recommendation.

I’m enclosing two with this and will be very glad if you can make use of them.

If you meet my friends in Constantinople, please tell them that I remember them very fondly – dear old Imre Kovács, Géza Hegyey etc etc.

Forgive me if I end this now; I’ve run out of time.

Kedves pajtás,

Köszönöm a kimeritó levelet, küldd mielőbb a következőt! Nagyon örültünk a jó híreknek és kívánjuk, hogy a fejedelmi arczképek mesterművek legyenek, a miben különben nem is kételkedem.

Apósom el van utazva, csak néhány nap múlva érkezik meg, akkor fogom tőle kérni az ajánló levelet.
