Be a Part of this year's Middle School Musical, "Between the Lines, Jr.": We are so excited to announce this year's middle school musical will be "Between the Lines, Jr." directed by GRCS Director of Theatre, Kate Mellitz. Based on the novel by international bestselling authors Jodi Picoult & Samantha van Leer, “Between the Lines JR.” is an empowering and enchanting musical for anyone who has struggled to find their place in the world. The middle school musical is open to all 6–8th graders and will be performed at the DeVos Center for Arts and Worship on March 27 & 28. Registration opens Monday, December 1 and will remain open till Friday, Dec. 19. Please look for a flyer hanging up around school to sign up or stop in the office if you have any questions.
Food Donations: Starting in December, GRCMS (sponsored by the SAB) will be having a food drive for the Green Apple Pantry in Kentwood. The SAB will be delivering the food mid January to help restock Green Apple’s shelves after the busy holiday season. We encourage you to donate items such as cereal, peanut butter & jelly, spaghetti sauce, noodles and canned fruit. Feel free to start a friendly competition between your grade level homerooms to see how much we can bring in! Last day of collection will be January 9. Teachers- find a place in your room to store the goods for now. Eventually the SAB will pick them up!
Sledding Hill: The snow has arrived! Oh what fun! Here are some important rules to follow so we can keep the snow hill open at recess:
- You may bring your own sled. School will not replace if broken. School will not provide sleds. Check with your teacher for a good place to store your sled.
- Max of 2 people on a sled at a time.
- Wait until the path is clear before you take off.
- Walk up the hill on the OUTSIDE of the cones.
- Sledding only between cones.
- If you choose to go down without a sled you will not be allowed to call home for dry clothes.
- Do NOT remove the mat from around the disc golf pole.
- No standing on your sled.
- Be thoughtful when coming back in. Stomp snow off your feet before you go inside and then use the rugs.
Staff: please coordinate with those on duty to have one staff member stationed at the hill for supervision. Six cones are available by door 15. Hill supervisor should grab the cones and place them on each side of the sledding hill.
Lost and Found: Please check the lost and found bins by Village Square and the Gym. All items will be donated at Christmas break if not claimed!
Variety Show tryouts will be on Wednesday, December 10 after school.
