Florence

30. v. 1930.

Dear Fülöp,

Today I sauntered along the Palazzo Vecchia where this Michelangelo statue is. I left the beautiful masterpiece with regret. Florence is so hot and dusty that it tires me. There are thousands of tourists everywhere, I can’t stand that [the following three words in French in the original] at length.[1] I go to the seaside and hope I can paint alone, because here I had no time at all.

With regards your old friend,

Vilmos
