What is Christian Youth in Action ®  (CYIA)? 

CYIA is training that equips you to share the Gospel in an effective way to reach children. Christian Youth in Action is training that is a part of the International Ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship.  ® For more information on Child Evangelism Fellowship check out our website.


What church sponsors CYIA? 

CEF ®  is an interdenominational ministry that works with any church that agrees with our Statement of Faith.

Who can come to CYIA?

 CYIA is a training for Christian young people who have a desire to serve the Lord and reach the children with the Gospel. Anyone age 12 & up can attend. However, you must be able to sign our Statement of Faith and share about the time you received the Lord Jesus as your Savior.

Where does CYIA take place? 

CYIA training takes place at Johnson University in Kissimmee.

When is CYIA Training? How long is it? 

CYIA is a one week training that takes place in the summer. Students will stay on the college campus overnight for the whole week. We have two weeks of training that you can choose from, in 2019 the two weeks of CYIA will be June 9th-15th and 16th-22nd.

What will I learn at CYIA?

  • Learn how to effectively share the Gospel using the Wordless Book
  • How to teach a memory verse in a way that kids will be able to remember it and apply it to their lives
  • Students 12 & up will have the opportunity to learn how to teach an exciting Missionary Story.
  • Students 14 & up have the opportunity to learn how to teach a Bible Lesson in a way that will give children a chance to respond to the Message of Salvation.

What is the cost? How will I raise funds?  

Please speak to your local director for cost information. You can search for your local director’s contact information here. 

Will I be able to talk to my parents at training?

Yes! You will be able to call your parents at training during free time and breaks.

How will I get to and from training?

Many students arrive at CYIA by carpooling with other students in their area, while others decide to drive up with their parents. Before CYIA your local Director will inform you about their chapter’s travel plans for training.  

What are the application deadlines?

Early registration ends April 1st. Complete applications sent in with medical forms and $25 registration fee will receive $25 off their total admission.

Regular registration ends May 15th.


What is 5-day clubs?

5-Day Clubs are the Bible clubs that are taught by CYIA students after training. They are held in the community (daycares, parks, rec centers, apartment complexes, houses ect.) for an hour and a half each day for one week. In these clubs children will hear Bible Lessons, Missionary stories, Bible verses, songs and more. 5-Day Club ®  is completely run by trained CYIA students with an adult to supervise. Can I get community service hours from serving in 5-day clubs?

Yes, service hours can be given to those who volunteer in teaching the 5-Day Clubs. For information on how this is to be handled talk to your local director. You can search for your local director’s contact information here.
