Goodwill is divided up into regions called agencies. Each agency is an autonomous non-profit organization, and the store here in Quincy is a part of Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries (LLGI) headquartered in Springfield, IL. Our area borders the Mississippi River and spreads across central Illinois to the Indiana border. Other stores in our agency in the area include include Springfield and Jacksonville. Goodwill in Hannibal, MO, is under the MERS agency, while Macomb, IL, is under Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois, so the website will not link your students to those stores (just in case someone wonders).

ISACorps (Submitted 3/15/2018) Corp Member

As the state’s college access and financial aid agency, a significant amount of the work of the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) is outreach to students and parents across the state to assist them in navigating the college-going and financial aid process. We accomplish much of our outreach through our Illinois Student Assistance Corps (ISACorps). The ISACorps are a talented group of recent college graduates who are trained by ISAC and then deployed across the state to help supplement the work of high school counselors in assisting students and families with the college planning and financial aid process. We are recruiting for new ISACorps members from the class of 2018, and we are hoping that you and your career services staff will share this exciting opportunity with your graduating students.

First launched in 2009, the ISACorps is a two-year, salaried program. Members receive six weeks of extensive training from ISAC experts and our partners—on everything from college search and applications to the details of financial aid and completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)—so they can serve as “near peer” mentors to middle and high school students. Although ISACorps services are available to any family in the state, ISACorps members focus on working with students from under-resourced communities and with those whose families have no prior college-going experience.

ISACorps members pay it forward — they use the knowledge and experience they gained on their postsecondary path to help others in their community reach their postsecondary education goals — making a real difference in the lives of students, families, and communities.

The ISACorps program offers a truly unique opportunity for recent college graduates to gain significant on-the-job work experience in a variety of educational settings while making a positive difference in the lives of students. As a result of their training, on-the-job experience and the relationships they build with ISAC partners, ISACorps alums move on to positions such as financial aid counselors, admissions advisors, college and career counselors, youth counselors, community organizers, outreach specialists, and other roles throughout Illinois and across the United States.

We would greatly appreciate your assistance in getting the word out to your graduating students about this terrific opportunity. I’m attaching a pdf of our recruiting brochure as well as a link to the ISACorps job posting

Please feel free to contact Tonya Polk, ISACorps Recruitment Manager at or 847-831-8013 if you have any questions. We thank you for your time and consideration.
