Day Camp Counselors are responsible for providing a day camp program consistent with the needs and interests of the community. Counselors must have the desire and ability to work with children, parents, volunteers and peers. Counselors will work with school age youth ranging from grades K-6. DESCRIPTION: This is a full-time, benefit eligible Uniform Classification & Pay (UCP) non-merit classified Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) non-exempt entry-level specialized professional position responsible for providing assistance and support in the administration of activities within the Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement (CJ/LE) Unit of the Missouri Department of Public Safety, Office of the Director. An employee in this class assists the Program Specialist with planning, implementing, and evaluating activities for the Department of Defense (DOD) Law Enforcement Support Office (LESO) Excess Property Program and the Department of Public Safety Donation Program.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, planning, criminal justice, law enforcement, safety, social sciences , or a closely related area; or four years of professional or technical experience in planning, or in an area that affords knowledge of the DOD LESO and DPS Donation Programs. Ability to operate a motor vehicle and/or truck safely and efficiently. Good physical condition to permit the lifting, moving, carrying, and stacking of heavy objects under varying climatic conditions. (These qualifications listed represent the minimum experience and education required. Equivalent substitution will be permitted in case of deficiencies in either experience or education.)
