Students must have a background and/or interest in working part time for us in an e-commerce function.  Must work with loading items onto our Magento platform website, as well as change and update content.  Work as many as 29 hours per week.  This person would really need to know Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and be comfortable in working with images and imaging software like Adobe.  Good grammar and literacy are a must.

As a side note, if you have anyone like this that is also very handy with Photoshop, we need a graphics creator as well, though that position MIGHT be hybridized and shared with our marketing department.

Illinois Student Assistance Commission (Submitted 2/15/2017) Several

For over fifty years, students have been a top priority at the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC). Our steadfast commitment to college completion is reflected in our mission of making college accessible and affordable for all Illinois students.

ISAC has several job openings in its ISACorps program for recent college graduates interested in working with students and parents as they navigate the college going process, especially for students who will be the first in their family to go to college and/or are from low-income households. The ISACorps program provides a unique opportunity for recent college graduates to gain work experience in a variety of education settings and help make a difference in the lives of students. As a result of their work, Corps members have presented at state and national conferences, transitioned to graduate school, and moved on to other exciting positions within education. Many former Corps members can be found working in high schools, colleges, and non-profits throughout Illinois.

Job Duties

• Provide accurate, complete, and sensitive counsel to students facing academic, financial, and social barriers to higher education

• Deliver quality presentations to middle, high school, and college student audiences

• Represent ISAC at college fairs, financial aid nights, conferences, and related events

• Promote programs and services offered by ISAC to communities throughout the state

• Provide technically proficient, yet easily accessible advice and information to the parents of potentially college-bound students on the college admission and financial aid application process

Location

Corps members are placed geographically in community college districts throughout the state. ISAC is currently recruiting for every region of the state. Please note that ISAC is unable to cover relocation expenses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required. For candidates that have not yet earned a bachelor’s degree, contracts will be contingent on graduating prior to the start date. As a program of near-peer mentors, we are looking for candidates who graduated high school during or after 2011.

• Passion for working with students pursing a college credential, especially low-income and first-generation college students

• We ask that selected candidates commit two years to the ISACorps

In advance of the scheduled March 25th , 2017 recruit testing, the Quincy Police Department will be offering a series of applicant workshops for individuals interested in applying to become a police officer with the City of Quincy. The workshops will focus on preparing for the physical agility testing as well as the written testing. The workshop for the physical agility will be held every Saturday in February (2/4, 2/11, 2/18 and 2/25) as well as March 4 th and 18 th at Quincy University Gym located at 18 th and Oak. There will be no workshop on March 11 th . The hours will be between 9:00 am and 11:00 am. After 11:00 am on each of those days, the recruits are invited to the Quincy Regional Training Center at 1900 Seminary Rd for assistance in preparing for the written portion of the testing.

The workshops are open for anyone interested in taking the March 25 th test, and a completed application is not necessary to attend. (For those who do decide to test will have a deadline of 4:30 pm on February 24 th , 2017 to turn in an application). The workshops are optional and not required as part of the application process. Those who are interested in attending the workshops may attend as many of the dates as they wish to.

For those attending the physical agility workshop please consider wearing comfortable workout clothing. There will be five physical activities you may choose to participate in: pre-exercise stretching, bench press, sit-ups, running and sit & reach.
